I thought dog walkers had insurance to cover their expenses for that sort of thing; oh well, I'm lucky I don't have to trust Tyler with someone else. Not sure I could after seeing what you've been through.
VERY happy to hear Wily's recovery is moving along. I always knew it would. Hope to see you guys around soon.

Great news!!! I can't believe the gall of that guy. If something like this had happened to any animal that I was responsible for, I wouldn't be able to sleep!
I hope the updates continue to be as optimistic. This is very good news on a Friday the 13th :D :D :D :D

Have you considered talking to an attorney? At the very least, you may want to protect yourself to make sure he doesn't go after you for the $1500. It's outrageous that he is asking you for that money, but he is obviously quite the jerk.

yes, they do have insurance thru Business Insurers of the Carolinas (u can find thru PSI - pet sitters intl and i had to call Century Ins Grp for liability). shell never officially had dallas sign papers signing over the business to him so i thot she might still be insured. but their coverage has lapsed (of course) and dallas is not insured or bonded period. ergh.. -
This is sort of a side note, but we hired Shell (Dallas's sister) when Seti was a couple of years old - she turned out to be quite nasty to us when we fired her and she left a voice mail telling us how much she and her husband hated our dog. This is obviously a really crappy family.

I'm SO happy to hear Wily is doing so well. What an amazing boy he is!!! I hope he continues to improve daily.
As far as that Dallas guy goes..UGH, the NERVE! That he could even ask you for reimbursement after the way he handled the situation and all the Wily and you have had to go through is appalling!

NOW FOR THE DALLAS JERK!!!!!!!! I can't believe he had the nerve to call and ask for his money back!!!!!!!! Yeah, if he wants to go down that road…then take him there. IDIOT! Oh but what a lucky idiot he is and it's very kind of you not to force the issue with him. I don't know how I would have handled it but I do know I wouldn't have been as gracious as you and your husband. Dumb Dallas is not thinking.

hi everyone!
here's the fun update on wily =) we finished phyical therapy at CARE last thur and he got a glowing review. i wanted to get him a doggie treadmill ("Jog-a-dog") but they're so expensive.. the dr. said the best exercise to do would be to walk in sand, so that's what i'm going to do with him at the park. anything to keep him off balance so that he continues to correct himself.wily's doing great and we actually went up to the dog park for the first time in almost 4mths today! he saw some old friends (bella and tyler) and had a great time.
yesterday wily was on the news for a story on physical therapy for dogs. they were featuring CARE. here it is! our little star..

hope everyone is doing well. and thanks for all of your good wishes. they worked! he's got a little ways to go now as far as his legs are concerned, but his spirit is just the same.

It's such a bitter/sweet story. Bless you for all you did for Wily. He looks amazing. After watching the video I had tears of joy for you and Wily. What a great little boy he is, but what a wonderful mom you are.

A friend just sent that link to me, posted on basenji rescue. I was thrilled to see Wily and how well he is doing! Lots of people have been pulling for the little guy. Your work and dedication has really paid off!
