• I bought some organic dog food by a company called Castor and Pollux. It was chicken and brown rice formula. Senji doesn't like it even when I mix it in with something else. He picks out the pieces of the "offending" dog food. Maybe I'll just donate the rest to the shelter.

  • There are many of us who use organic and holistic dog foods. I used to use the solid gold (holistic) and now I use cannidae (organic and holistic, i think). Medjai loves all of them, but the tiny pieces are hard for him, because he wants to just swallow them whole.

  • I don't believe that Canidae is organic and/or holistic, but it is all natural… and a good food... There are many good foods out there, I use Natural Balance Potatoe and Duck (made with no grains). Evo is a good food, again no grain, Innova is a good food... there are lots....

  • All I feed my b's is Organic.
They are doing very well on it.

  • I have heard that Innova is one of the best. I think I even saw it listed on a site for fanconi dogs, because it really is nice on their digestive system.

Yeah, I wasn't sure about Canidae, but the dog health food ish store said it was organic.

  • Regardless if organic or not, Canidae is a good food

  • I have used Caniade All Life Stage food for about 10 years now.
Always been very happy with it.
Recently switched to Blue Buffalo (Holistic) all natural dog food and am very happy with it. The kids love it and especially the little lifesource bits that is loaded with vitamins and antioxidants.
Blue Buffalo also makes an Organic Formula food.
What I like about Blue is that you can find them in all Petsmart and some Petco.
With Canidae I had to go to special stores to get them and most of
them close on Sundays and its getting harder and harder for me to
get. Sometimes I had to go all the way across town to get it and they
    were out of stock.

Really happy with Blue, be sure to give it a try!

I am actually Feeding 50/50 Canidae and Blue.
    I like mixing food.

  • I use both Solid Gold (Barking at the Moon) and Timberwolf Organics (Ocean Blue). I had been using Innova Evo, and while Ruby loved it, I didn't love the size of the bites (could only get the small bite size locally). Anyway, Ruby, and now Brando, love fish and love these 2 foods, so they are doing well on them.

  • I switched my boy to Blue Buffalo a couple weeks ago & it is the only food that he has finished eating before walking away from it. I take that as a good sign 🙂

  • I used to have to drive 20 miles across town to buy plain Innova, then Evo, but a store opened 2 miles from my house that carries the large bite EVO and regular Innova, which I mix 3/4 EVO and 1/4 regular Innova. Mine have been eating this combo for at least 4 or 5 years and they love it, and it loves them (great coats, good stools, no vomiting). There are many very good quality foods, you just have to find one that agrees with your dog. A friend uses Blue Buffalo and her dog had a really horrible coat, almost no fur, now he has a thick wonderful coat and is very healthy, she credits the Blue Buffalo.

  • You can try this site

to see how the various foods compare and to get ingredients.

I have used Innova and Solid Gold and currently feed Canidae no grain – all have given good coats and health to mine.

I feed Castor and Pollux too and Buddy seems OK with it. I mix it with frozen raw made by Primal. I also mix in organic canned pumpkin. I rotate the type of raw every week between chicken, duck, lamb and beef.
