I watched him closely after work and it also appears to me that his bone only comes out when he bends like this. But he still looks skinny to me even though he is heavy for his age. Do you think I should feed more?Thanks for the advice. It's definitely helped!

I have never seen a rib bone stick out like that. I think something is wrong and you should talk to your breeder or have a vet check it.

I have seen this sort of thing very often when a puppy is in a certain stance - in this case bending to drink. I would not worry about it at all but if concerned, by all means consult a vet.

Puppies can afford to be plump but don't let him get too heavy. Over-feeding / over eating are bad habits and often hard to cure. Actually he looks just fine to me. I would say 'steady as he goes. . . '
