Miles: A Rescue

Very, very cute! Miles has a priceless look on his face on the second-to-last photo! Especially in contrast with "pose-able Lexi"! Another one to enter in a contest.
-
He seems to be saying, "Are you serious?"
-
LOL! I was thinking the same thing! Such a boy, isn't he????? Lexi just poses away …
Pose-able Lexi made me think of a doll when I read that! LOL!

So here's the latest adventure. This summer some kitties were born in our neighborhood. They are basically feral cats who took up residence in a storm drain. I got really mad when some neighbors decided to start putting food in the drain for them- that's not responsible. Anyways, one of them has fallen in love with my dogs. It's so crazy. Miles couldn't care less about cats, but Lexi wants to chase them. In fact, one of her magic words is "kitty cat". But this one outstanding kitty just adores them. And when Lexi comes running and swats him on the head, all he does is rub on her and purr. It's too funny. Lexi's left standing there totally confused. The kitty, whom we've named Oscar, lives outside and I think someone feeds him. But as soon as he hears the kids' collars jingling, he comes RUNNING. And he rubs on them and purrs. He walks between the dogs as we go for our walk- as if he were on a leash too. He plays with their leashes and even comes back up the stairs with us. Over the last month, we've convinced him (okay, more like built the trust necessary) to get him inside the house. We have an uncle who adores cats and is going to adopt him (hopefully). So we can get him vet care and neutered. But in the meanwhile, he is so cute!!

Awww….your dogs are sooooo awesome. Look at that family harmony with a feral! cat Are you sure he doesn't want to stay with you? It looks like he might
-
Oh, Oscar's totally claimed us. He reminds me of the kitty in Shrek- the one with the big eyes. He used to sit on our doorstep and hubby would shut the door in his face. I couldn't stand it. But slowly, Oscar has won him over. Hubby used to say, "Don't ever feed him from the doorstep and don't ever let him in here!" And now I catch him urging Oscar to come in and I even caught him feeding him cheese!! hehehehe… He's irresistible! I would LOVE to keep him myself but we're a little cramped at the moment. I just worry that if we give him to the Uncle, he won't have the exposure to dogs that he obviously loves.

PLUS- the walks are SOOOO much better when we have Oscar to look forward to… I mean, who loves going out when it's in the 20s ever morning?! Ugh!!

Here's a better pic of his face
