Basenji Talk
  • We had a big get together once at our house and it was great seeing a large pack of basenji's running loose. Great fun

The funny part was telling which dog was yours. It's not that easy to tell when they are constantly moving about.

While out in the yard an unlucky chipmonk made an apperance and darned if 10 basenji;s could not catch that thing!

    Be sure to get pictures!

  • I want to know what your gonna be doing with all your free time.
I gotta believe your going with the "More is better theory".
That being said, you should be bored to death. :o (In theory :p )

  • The Byrd boys enjoying thier visit to Basenji Park.

This is Jasper's littermate Brother Talon. Beautiful eyes.

    Grinner guarding the weed wacker.

It's been an interesting week so far to be sure.

  • I think we would all love to visit Basenji Park!

How could any dog not love it!

  • They look right at home!!

  • I do hope you have a plot in the works for a group photo  - it would be very interesting!! Or . . . at least a photo of Jasper and Talon together and another with Raven and Grinner together. Nice pics of your guests. Can't wait to see more . . .

We'll shoot for the Brother/Brother, Sister/Brother pictures…..all of them at once may prove more than we can accomplish!
I don't know where it stops though, Willy is also a half brother to Grinner:rolleyes: Oh and then there's Grinner's, Aunt Cleo.:)
Talon has brother Jasper, Aunt Penny & Aunt Raven, oh and Uncle Max...........geez:rolleyes:
They're all related in some way or another.

  • It will be a feat just to get them to sit together!! Let's see how it turns out!!

I'm afraid If I do decide to get another I won't have a chance to introduce them beforehand as it Will probably be a puppy I bring from the US.. I doubt there will be a problem since she will be a young puppy…

@Lenora: She had got up from her nap, gone into the bedroom and knocked the ironing board over on her head, all in the space of less than a minute! LOL. Bella almost beaned herself during Christmas. She jumped up on the hearth and tried to pull down one of the stockings. It was held up by a very heavy wrought iron stocking holder. I heard it hit the floor and came into find her with the stocking in her mouth. It must have just missed her by an inch or so. She had gone for 3 weeks with no interest in the stockings. Don't know why they managed to get her attention that particular day. I sure hope she calms down at least a little bit when she's older.

This is the main problem right now, I suppose. The civil war's in the Republik of Kongo. I have been talking to a owner of Avongara Basenjis, who's daughter has been in Afrika with the last big expedition. And she had the same thoughts than I have: we thought, that if there are some Basenjis left (the ones which have not landed in the cooking pans), they are spread all over the forrest regions. Most of the human inhabitants of this region have left their houses for the next bigger city to find a little security and help there…. it is absolutely horrible, what mus go on there. But similar actions in other parts of Africa (Mali and Burkina Faso are always at the border of war like actions) plus in lots of these areas there are now many refugees from other areas which make the problems not easier for the habitants....http://www.azawakh.com/azawakhfriends/english/index.html Regards, Esther

Jayden is super gross when it comes to what he'll eat: poop, vomit, and, if he pees on the patio, he'll lick that. Honest!!! We feed him and we feed him very well! Yucccchhhhh! Pat

There's no animal so resourceful as a hungry basenji. They were slighted you know for centuries being last in line at the cooking pot.
