I can say we just had a blizzard and have been getting one to two storms a week. Oakley has a Hurrta coat, a snood which he sometimes uses as a neck warmer and boots used for wet snow or extremely cold weather. Despite that his paw pads started bleeding yesterday mid walk…he really can't handle the constant snow, ice, cold and ice melt..
I think you should be able to bring your pup out; just keep an eye on any signs of hard shivering or motionless (not wanting to move), lifting up of one foot at a time and staring at you. All those can be signs of cold uncomfortability. Congrats on your new pup and I do agree to use caution around dogs you aren't familiar with, but also keep in mind socialization is super important as well. Try for positive experiences with dogs at a safe distance and try to get in up close experiences with dogs whose medical history and owner reliability are there
Can everybody…

…say a little prayer? Querk, Ivy and Blondie are at the vet today getting dentals, and Querk is getting neutered.
One of the techs just called me to ask if Querk had a four ft. or six ft. leash...because apparently he chewed it up while waiting for his procedure, and she wanted to make sure she had it all :o
-
Good thoughts going their way…ggg... and leave it to a Basenji to make a shorter leash....
-
Consider it done. They should throw in a free x-ray to make sure, since it happened on their "watch". I'm sure all is okay… Please keep us posted.
-
Thoughts and prayers for you, Querk, Ivy and Blondie. It will work out fine, but a little stressful on the nerves.
Extra special gentle hugs for Querk.

Good thoughts, prayers and doggie kisses from my furbabies to yours.

Thanks everyone for your well wishes and prayers. All dogs are home now, and happily snoozing. Between the three of them, they had several extractions but at least their breath will be better
-
Sorry to hear they needed several extractions. If they are like Nicky was after his teeth cleaning they will be eager to get into trouble once they are past the tired stage. He was like a puppy getting into all sorts of mischief.

yeah, for some reason my dogs have really cruddy teeth Maybe it is our water? I am going to try that oxyfresh and see if that helps some.
here's hoping for no more than the usual mischief
-
Glad mom & babies are all doing well…:)

Mine have cruddy teeth too… and it could be the hard, hard water... or in the case of OJ it is genetic as all the dogs from his Dam have terrible teeth... and he would always have extractions and so to the point that they just fell out by themselves....
By the way, I tried the oxyfresh... no real help.... And OJ too, after a teeth cleaning, he was like a baby pup again, which told me that his teeth were bothering him....
