    My sweet little boy. Only hours after entering his new home, bolted out a door and met his end with an automobile. Today, my heart weeps an ocean of tears.

    Yes it does. And the people that I had placed Bonkers and his brother Blitzz with Friday had owned Basenjis for 20 years. They were very responsible people who were experienced with the breed. But somehow the dog managed to blast past them through the door. They spent the entire night patrolling the area, spotting Bonkers several times but he was too confused and frightened to go to the people he had only known a few hours. This was a tragedy for both myself and the new owners. We are all still in shock about it. The remaining dog Blitzz has a bad case of seperation anxiety. I am concerned with how he will be now that his brother is gone. :(

    I so sorry for your loss. It is never easy losing one of our beloved pets. If you are on Reddit, there is a subreddit where you can request portraits of your pets that have passed on.     Am so very sorry, Alex. My tri boy Mr.T will be 12 in December. We lost our last 2 b's at ages 17 (Jenna went in her sleep), but Zak I had to have PTS as he had dementia really bad. Its never easy loosing these furkids. Kiya will live forever in your heart and memories, never to be forgotten. She is running with the wind and sunning herself in the warmth of the sun. Until you all meet again, someday. HUGS

    My brother in law gave me a plaque that says: "It came to me that every time I lose a dog they take a piece of my heart with them, and every new dog who comes into my life gifts me with a piece of their heart. If I live long enough all the components of my heart will be dog, and I will become as generous and loving as they are." I am sorry for your loss.

    I am SO sorry to hear of the passing of your Sweet Cosmo. I know the hole she leaves in your heart, but she left knowing that she was loved as much as she could be loved and I am sure she loved you the same! I feel confident that we will be reunited with our dear Basenjis one day. Sending love and prayers for both of you.
