    While I applaud you for wanting to rescue this little Basenji, they are not doghouse kind of dogs. They want to be with their human pack as much as possible, and keep in mind that just because they are an African breed, this little girl may have been out of Africa's climate for many generations and may not fare well in intense heat. My black and white girl does not do well in our FLorida heat for example. She prefers the air-conditioned sun she lies in inside the house. Basenjis are escape artists as well, and she may be able to get out of your yard. If you cannot keep this self-cleaning, low shedding dog in the house with you and you cannot locate the owner, Then Basenji Rescue and Transport is a good place to turn to find to find this little girl a loving home with Basenji saavy fosters and adopters. Now to check whether others can also see it! This is a picture of my two girls, taken a long time ago......probably in the '80s. I am wondering if the picture you are trying to upload is too big. Trying that now. I am not seeing the picture I just uploaded, so that may be the problem. ![0_1467823932526_Bathtime.jpg](Uploading 100%) Yes, I think that is the key. Downsize your picture and I bet it will work properly. As you see, I get the same uploading message that you did, but no picture, when I try to upload a large file.

    My girl does most of the above listed things except that she does neck grab other dogs, but when she once caught and killed a squirrel, she grabbed and shook it, killing it immediately. Thereafter she was not at all interested in the prey and walked off. Another dog, a labradoodle, went over to grab the squirrel and started playing all over the field with it till its owner got it away from him. Shaye had no interest at all in this exchange because she did what she set out to do - catch and kill.

    @etzbseder: I just had it re-assured that basenjis are partly just a 2-3 year old child. My roommates kid is visiting, and his mom is having the same arguments with their 3 year old son as I have with Medjai. "You just played, now you MUST go to the bathroom. I know you don't want to, but trust me, you have to." "Take a nap, you played all morning, and you always want to play later." They both will just look to see when the parent isn't looking and do what they're not supposed to. I always tell people that having a Basenji is like having a perpetual 2 yr old….so actually, you give Medjai more credit than I give mine, LOL.

    Joey's breeder is Eric Williams in Michigan. I just met Joey's great aunt who is so precious! She is 4 and a tri. Eric is dogsitting Joey for a few days over the holiday and even tho I miss Joey so much already (I dropped him off at noon), I know he is in good hands! I hope Joey will want to return home!!!
