  • Wonder if this is the breeder? And if not, why is this dog not going back to the breeder?

  • Sigh… And a gag.

  • I know,,,, sad to hear of this scenario AGAIN!!! poor little guys/gals…hope the next home is better. I wonder why they didn't call the breeder??? I'll post to them to try this..............duh!

just spoke with the owner Lexie, lives in Tampa owns a groom shop, getting married, will have then 5 dogs and the sister of this Trindle. The breeder will take him back if she does not get him a new home when the breeder moves into her new home. Didn't get the name of breeder....
This boy is smaller than littermates, but is smarter and from all the others in the litter, he has no bad behaviors such as chewing up furniture, etc. His pack mates are two GSD...(!) whom he pesters.... knows how to open a lever door but is dog and human friendly-outwardly so! hope this post snags at a heart. Lexie will deliver as far a Alpharetta, Ga . price is negotiable.

  • OK still available…wish I could

I'm sure this has already been forwarded to basenjirescue.org but I sent it again just in case as well as posted this on their Facebook page. Hopefully someone can help this guy out. I can help with transport if needed. :-)

He has a docked tail and white on the back part of his body. He sure does look Basenji from the front! He has lost weight in the shelter-now weighs 16 lbs. He is still a good looking boy! Available for adoption today. Here is his new picture: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=441156625918746&set=a.217775651590179.64764.191859757515102&type=3&theater Jennifer

I agree, BRAT does get in pairs and ask they be adopted together plus BRAT works really hard to ensure placement are suitable and going to good homes. If your looking for a basenji savvy home them I would say "yes, getting the fanconi test will help getting them placed"…anyone not savvy or not caring to know about basenji genetic conditions won't care if theyre tested or not)

I sent the url to BRAT just now. I was called yesterday about a transport for a basenji in a Pasco County shelter, but before he could be pulled, someone had adopted him. He was still there waiting for neuter, but theoretically has been adopted. Not sure if this is the same dog but sounds like it.

Basenjis in St. Pete may be related to the Wimauma dogs (same "breeder", all are very large basenjis). He doesn't look slim, but I don't see a bulging belly, either. Lucky for us he isn't black & white, whew! I would not be able to resist. I'll share with everyone I know…
