Sounds like they have an ideal life - the sort that is denied to all too many Basenjis ! Lucky little dogs !
(Not sure I'd let them continue to kill cats though ?)
Hi & welcome Nikol!
I agree, basenjis are rare here (Croatia, Slovenia etc), but we do have them, and we even have few kennels and planned litters (just not for this year).
I hope that we'll meet one day, we are not so far away from each other
(just short welcome greeting in Croatian - dobrodosla i pozdrav od Rijecanke koja zivi u Ljubljani i od njezine basenjike)
Hi there and welcome..sounds like you are over teh moon with excitementβ¦good, makes it even more so special. Can't wait to hear that you have her home...
(just short welcome greeting in Croatian - dobrodosla i pozdrav od Rijecanke koja zivi u Ljubljani i od njezine basenjike)
Just short welcome back in Croatian - Hvala!!
β¦it wasn't short after all
I'm so glad that there is someone near Croatia with Basenjis. I was in contact with Tisa that has Loa http://www.anansi-loa.com/ I suppose you know her?
I really hope that we will meet soon. I really would like to talk and change experience with Basenji owners not only thru internet
Tiva, do you go to dog shows? OOO, I'm so happy you are near! If you want we can change e-mails?
Yesterday I called my contact with breeder (he don't speak English so we have someone who translates :)) to ask her to find out when can I come for Asali. So, I'm waiting to know exactly when
At what age did you get your Basenjis? Is it at 8 weeks or do I need to wait till 9 weeks? What depends on when can we pick her up?
hello - firstly congratulations with your new basenji - there are actually basenji owners and breeders in Croatia - look at this website www.fallohide.dk/basenjis_in_coratia.htm
for more information - mind you it has been 3 years since the last litter was born in Croatia - look forward to photos of your new basenji - regards, Pia
and the link should read www.fallohide.dk/basenjis_in_croatia.htm
you have imported Olabishi-Chinue Asali from Austria ?- Actually the sire to this female is
Banjoko African Destiny, who was bred in Croatia and exported to Austria - and now his daughter returns to the native land !
Hi PiaMerete, yes I know all this
Unfortunately, AFRICAN DESTINY doesn't exist anymore. I'm planning to go to Croatian Kennel Club soon to find out moreβ¦but I'm pretty sure there isn't any active breeder in the recent years. I've try to contact every breeder on this list before and give up
But never mind anymore. We will register ourselfs as a Basenji breeder
Of course I know that Banjoko is form Croatia I'm so happy because of the fact that Asali will return to the native land
ok - if you get any news will you let me know ? Good luck with your new basenji girl
Hi again, today I received a few new photos I would like to share
I'm in love!!
If vet examination and vaccination would be finished till 25th of February we will have her on February 26th :D:D:D
I so hope that we will. It is hard to wait!
I don't know how to insert picture into the post so I'll add all in my photo album
Success
She is a beautyβ¦you are so lucky..
Love her face, she is soooo cute :D. No wonder you can't wait to have her at home :).
She is such a pretty baby. How exciting for you.
hi Nikol,
first of all, congratulations to your basenji girl!
Also, me and my husband decided to try and change situation here in Croatia and start a web page to introduce Basenjis with people here and we will get a male puppy soon and give it a try in breeding
please check first if there is any demand for basenjis in your area.
i can imagine the breeder stopped their activities because it was difficult to find good places for their pups, since it's not a breed for everyone.
Welcome here Nikol.
Can't wait to see her.
please check first if there is any demand for basenjis in your area.
Thanks
I'll take it slow. This isn't like I'm going to have litter every year
Mail point is to have girl and a boy, to have them as part of my family. When we decide to have a litter we'll register kennel and do it under FCI. What I'm trying to do is to create web site about Basenjis in Croatian where anyone who will be interested in a breed can learn about it on this web site.
Yesterday I found out that there would be a litter this year in Croatia, so after all I'm not the only one
Thanks all of you for your lovely words
Tisa, I can't wait to meet you and your Loa!!
As I talk to breeder yesterday we will go to Austria 4th or 5th March to pick her up. So it's 21 day to go
β¦it seems so long :o
The litter in Croatia will be from Loa's sister Asha.
And it will probably be red and black combination.
The days will pass quickly, you will see.
Yes, I saw it
I hope Loa have litter this year too
When we decide to have a litter we'll register kennel and do it under FCI.
that's great!
as well as the idea of providing people with information in their language.
wish you a lot of patience for the remaining three weeks!
Yes, I hope soβ¦. :o
And then you will have one of her girls in Croatia too.
