Probably clear test but is losing weight and looks poor

    My girl has a probably clear test by OFA. I am taking her to the vet in a couple days because she is loosing weight and her coat is poor. she is not excessively thirsty or acting like she is sick. Can the genetic test be wrong? Has any one heard of this? Any thoughts. thank you

    Did you receive a pedigree? Before the definitive Fanconi DNA test, I was testing my rescues for glucose in the urine at 2 years of age. I have not yet retested my dogs with the updated DNA test so they are still being tested for glucose in the urine. Jennifer

    Thanks once again Tanza ;). Again I will have to wait for this test to be done… Khani's, our dogs first birthday pressie was info on how to be a good doggie, and follow all the rules Mummy has laid down for them ;););)... I cant believe that they wont follow the manual...

    @dmcarty: re: puppy mills and testing only one parent - I know for a FACT that at one place the sire of several years of litters was not the sire - it was a male who had good papers so his name was listed even though he was DEAD. One of the PM's males was the sire of several litters attributed to this OTHER dog. (I happen to know the person who owned the substitute sire) So it is unfortunate but the testing will only be as ethical as those who provide information to the test. Geez I hate to even say that but I am afraid that it's true. No doubt about that… and another reason to only look at AKC who has a DNA parentage program for high volume breeders...
