    When they are with their littermates and any adults, during play when they bite to hard, the one getting bite will scream at the biter… and adults will strongly correct... this is when they learn "soft" bite... so sounds like your Rocco did not get this... This happens if removed from the adults and/or other littermates too early... So as stated, all play stops... also, I suggest that if the bite is too hard, scream/yell very loud and then stop all play

    Saba, The temperature up here was quite hot to state the obvious. LOL I have to agree with you that it is only at shows that we see a large group of basenjis. Seeing the basenjis is the only reason I go to the Royal Easter Show. Millissa loved seeing him after two years. Pepper has taken over and is showing Mister Two Dicks who is boss. It is funny to watch.

    @tanza: Please tell Kylie "hi" for me next time you talk to her….. And interesting note, the girl I am breeding this year, her call name is Kylie! Bugger….. I have just written a long message to Kylie and I forgot to say hello to her for you, sorry........I promise to tell her next time, sure will be in the next day or so !!! :o :o I wont tell her that you will be breeding her this year though :D ..........................................

    @Jen_westoz: Thanks Pat, Its always a good sign when people are so helpful and willing to send you information about their dogs. Even without visiting Davina I am already sure she is a fine breeder and you've confimed it for me! My originally intentions of waiting a year are getting harder and harder to stick to. If only we had moved already! Well there is still hope she may still have some pups when I am ready or I will just have to be patient until next year. I would rather wait for her next litter now that I have heard such good reports than go to someone i didnt know much about. I think you are making very smart and wise decisions… and I know how hard it is to wait....:D ... I waited almost a year before I got my first Basenjis... Good luck... and I know you will be a wonderful Basenji Slave!
