  • We all had a great time today at the meet, thankfully the weather was kind to us right up until the end. Here are some pics from the day.

Belle with her half sister Lycia:)

The end result a tired Basenji:D

  • Surely you had a great time :D. How many Bs were there?

What happy dogs, looks like y'all had fun.

  • Lovely pictures, Jen. :D Belle looks as tired as my two do - and I gave them a quick walk when I got home as well! How cruel am I. ;)

    You cruel person:p

Took Kwame out when I got back and tried to put the lead on Belle to take her too but no chance she just wanted to sleep lol

Poor Belle! I can imagine her refusal! ;)

  • Still lovin' the pics!! And wishing we could have made it :D

  • It looks like you had a good time. That is a very contented B in that last pic.

I did wonder how you were getting on when I was out with the dogs this morning.

  • Had to laugh when Lauren got out the sausages (a word you can't say or even spell in this house as they KNOW), it was like feeding a pack of wild dogs! Occasionally one of them sat still for a minute…no, wait....a second! :D

I had such a lovely, lovely time, as did my two. Thanks for letting me join you all. :)

The pictures are lovely. Look forward to seeing more!

  • Oh God am I knackered! Just back in from our fab day out then out again to see Bill Bailey in Oban. (He was brilliant).

I'll post some pics tomorrow but now I'm off to enjoy a beer then a long lie in the morning.

I have 3 totally exhausted Bs so hopefully they'll let me have my lie in.

Thanks for helping to make today so enjoyable. Looking forward to the next one. :)

  • @Maya:

    See you there Nicola :D

Oooh, excellent, Jess! I can't wait to see Maya again! :D I'm bringing my granpa along to meet her too! He's coming with us now to entertain Roxy as she'll get bored being there all day and not doing anything!

  • Wonderful pics! It's great to see Lycia again :) Of course.. All the other dogs look great too ;)

  • Thank you to Vicki for organising the day and also to everyone else and their Dogs for making a realy special day. We will remember it always and hope to do it again sometime in the future. To see all of the Dogs running and playing together in our own private pack was marvelous.
The pub lunch was lovely and to be able to talk dog all day was great.
We stayed in Stirling overnight and after an afternoon nap Malaika was off for a walk around Loch Lomond.
Today she has walked all around Stirling and now she's crashed out on our bed fast asleep.
Will post some pics as soon as i can.

@tanza Oh yes. I give her 1/3 cup blue buffalo puppy kibble, 1 tbsp wet blue buffalo puppy, 1 tbsp yogurt or cottage cheese, (alternating) and if I se any sign of dandruf or dryness in her fur, I also add in a few drops of olive oil. I have chicken and vegetables every night, and I've been preparing my chicken unseasoned since I got rogue so I can use it for training on occasion, so sometimes if she's being stubborn I'll bury some tiny shreds of chicken in her food to get her to eat, or sometimes I'll do the same thing with some other high value treats. I don't feed her in a crate, but I've moved her bowl into my room so she's lessdistracted at mealtime, and she has a safe place to eat when my niece comes over. Rogue plays nice with my niece outside, but indoors, she's kind of a really big squeeky toy, so we have to watch her constantly. I also, on the rarest occasions, will give her a little tiny pinch of american, or sharp cheddar cheese. That seems to get her really excited. She doesn't get excited about cottage cheese, but american or sharp cheddar? She goes nuts. fagedabodit. And she get chews and kongs in the crate, but never meals. And she doesn't spend much time in there anymore since she's been house trained. She just sleeps in my bed. In fact, she's passed out next to me right now.

@tanza: And he still loves (or I should say) his Big Sister, Crystal still thinks he is pretty cool… LOL.... Thanks Andrea.... Andrea?... will you make the Nationals? I am really hoping to. My tentative plan right now is to fly out with just Ethan, and maybe one dog. Then Ethan can stay with my sister in Portola Valley, and I can just enjoy the National :) Tim has offered to stay home with the dogs, to save money…but he may change his mind by the time it actually rolls around :) We had originally planned to drive across with ALL dogs, and Ethan...and quickly realized that kind of roadtrip with a three year old would be insanity!
