I SO agree with the 15 second rule. My friends, who own "regular" breeds of dogs, think I am crazy to be so watchful with my basenji/whippet mix. She has, however, jumped the fence 3 times at work. Her last attempt I was able to stop by yelling "NO" at her. She, while perched atop the fence, turned, looked at me and decided she better just fall back into the fenced area and NOT go over the fence after the squirrel!! I say GOOD CHOICE!!

How very sweet! By special needs what are the problem areas? I have a lot of experience in special needs b's! Maybe I can help. I had one that had dominance aggression problems and immune deficiency problems. I have another with Inflammatory Bowel disease and fear aggression.

We will definately have Hollie in the woods with us soon. The hubby is just itching to get to camp and trout fish. Glad to know yours are chicken… and don't wander. I'm hoping for the same with Hollie. I think she'll make a fine camping dog!

Same markings on both and they do the same thing!!!! At least now I know my cat isnt' the only one who likes to be chewed by our puppy. Man oah man...does the cat have something in store when our puppys grow! Maybee then the cat will stand up for himself 😉

I am really hoping to. My tentative plan right now is to fly out with just Ethan, and maybe one dog. Then Ethan can stay with my sister in Portola Valley, and I can just enjoy the National 🙂 Tim has offered to stay home with the dogs, to save money…but he may change his mind by the time it actually rolls around 🙂

We had originally planned to drive across with ALL dogs, and Ethan...and quickly realized that kind of roadtrip with a three year old would be insanity!

Sugar is from George and Locket's first litter and is Bindi's Sister, while Chevy is from their second litter.

Bella stops, dead center of the room and freezes like a statue. Then she starts smacking her lips and licking her nose repeatedly. Usually she gives me plenty of time to guide her away from my fancy rug and get her to the hard floor. I swear she is like a baby, she expects me to sit there with her and tell her it will be okay. You can tell it scares her to get sick, poor thing. I think that is really smart of Lexi to tell you her bubby is sick!
