Who says I'm not supposed to bark!

Sonny went to the vet last night for his yearly check-up. He does not like the vets office at all! But he especially does not like the vet herself. She's actually a very nice lady but to Sonny she is not a friend :( While we were sitting in the exam room waiting for her, Sonny was laying at my feet looking out the door. When the vet walked by the door the 1st time he let out a loud BARK! :eek: and he continued to bark everytime she passed the door for the next 10 minutes. Off course the whole vet staff found this to be hysterical. next thing we knew he had an audience outside the exam room waiting to hear the "barkless" basenji BARK :p… and I must admit Sonny has a very funny sounding bark so it is amusing......when she came in the room to examine him he put on his tough guy attitude for about 30 seconds and then decided to just let her do her thing so we could get the hell outta there! :)

If your vet is nice, you can fix this. :)
Take Sonny by the vet a couple of times a week if you can and just leave the vet his fave treats. She can pop him one, you leave. After a few times, he will associate her with good. :)
Does Sonny boof (single bark) or repeat barking? Cara BOOFS a lot. BOOF….. Boof.... Boof.

Usually he lets out a double bark….if it's because he's excited -then its often a single bark followed by some singing :p
