Agree with @elbrant and I'd like to add, when you return be very matter of fact, do not make a big fuss, particularly if she is excited and effusive in her greeting to you. Sure, acknowledge her if you must but don't make any sort of big deal out of it. Go about your business, e.g. if you've been shopping, put your things away before spending any time with her. Your goal is to make your absence just part of a normal routine, nothing to be excited about. I've had two separation anxiety dogs, and you know you have won the battle when the dog just glances at you in an "oh, you're back" way and doesn't bother getting off the couch! Yes, people like it when their dog greets them and makes a big fuss, but if you feed that behaviour you give too much emphasis to your absence and that can grow into anxiety in your dog.

Have you talked to her breeder? Seems a bit light, but it all depends on how she is built, but at only 15", that is to the small side also. If she is healthy and eating well, then she is most likely OK. But best to always talk to the breeder and learn about their bloodlines and what is typical for their Basenjis.

Is she looking/doing ok?

she's very healthy, energizer bunny hahah, I'm just guessing on height/weight, I'll try to get more accurate tonight. Can't talk to breeder she's a rescue dog-abandoned with her brother at 2 weeks. My daughter has had her since 5 weeks was bottle fed by the people that found her. They couldn't keep them because their pit bulls were being too rough. I'll post some pics later tonght.:)

OK, I'm a little off, she's 15 in. (not quite sure how to measure) and weighs 20 lbs. I'm trying to upload pics, do I have to use a website or can I upload straight to this website?:)

You would measure from the ground to the withers, which is a place just were the neck joins the back and you can feel the shoulder blades.

I wouldn't worry that much when they are so young. They will usually start tightening up once they pass 1 year.
Gizmo was/is a heavy and big guy. I too was worried with his weight, but now at 11 months, his body has started to tighten up.

Our Dolce is also 7 months old and is about the same size and a little lighter at 15lbs. She is not a good eater, but was always the smallest in the litter.

Our rescue now adopted Kell was 16.01 when we got him at 4 mos, now at 6 mos he is 29 lbs!!! But he is taller than all our other Bs, he is so active there is very little fat on him. He was on the thin side when he first got here and ate almost constantly for 2 weeks. Now he gets a small breakfast and a normal supper with the rest of the pack. We bred our own Bs in years past, and they do tend to tighten up after a year. As a pup, I am not going to put him on a "diet" at this time. As long as she is healthy, eats well, I do not think I would worry about it. Our 5 year old girl only recently went over 20 lbs, and we changed their dog food and all the adults have lost weight and look and feel much better I do believe. Enjoy!
