• Occasionally, I buy a single-serving bottle of grape juice. When I finish the bottle, AJ loves to get the last few drops out of the bottle. (It's funny watching him lick the inside of a bottle:D) I have read somewhere that grapes are not good for dogs, but I have seen opposing opinions on the same subject.

Is it bad for him if he only gets a few drops of grape juice on rare occasions?

Has anyone else noticed odd things their dogs like?

Yes, grapes or raisins are not good for dogs. If they eat a couple it won't hurt. And in your case a few drops isn't going to hurt at all.

  • I would be surprised if there is actually that much real grape juice in the bottle for it to even be a concern. A few drops likely would be even less of an issue.

  • I only buy juices that are 100% juice. (Welches, etc) I'm one of those nitwits who stands in the aisle reading labels.:)

It good to hear those few little drops aren't going to harm him. I just wanted to double check.

So what oddball things do your dogs like?

Yes, but usually even 100% juice varieties are "watered down" with apple juice - so it might not be 100% grape.

Buddy really enjoys all the crap people throw on the ground that he picks up on walks. Then I have shove my hand in his mouth to dig it out. Nothing feels better in your hand than a soggy old piece of graham cracker.

  • Ella went crazy a few days ago for a piece of hard rind from some cheese. We crammed it into one of her chew toys and she went wild on it for almost an hour.

They are like vacuum cleaners at times.

  • Jaycee loves artichokes not one of my favorites by no means. However she will not eat a chip unless there is some kind of dip on it.

Can you blame him? Lucky Benji! I was watching the UK version of "It's Me or the Dog" one time and they had an episode where a family pretty much always fed leftover Indian food to their dog. :D:D

  • I know human food is not good for dogs but they do seem to enjoy it. I think as the odd treat it is ok, Benji and Max thought so anyway 😃

I always said I would name our next dogs after vacuum cleaners, like Hoover, Kirby, Shark, and the like, it fits..
    I just don't think I want a Podengo named Dyson…;)

Otis loves anything going into a human mouth...except grapefruit...

  • Kananga never gets human food because he just likes to chew on it and spit it out. The only things he will actually eat thus far (and goes nuts for) is chicken and yogurt. If I finish a cup of yogurt, i'll let him lick the glass clean before it goes into the dishwasher. It's good for his digestion and he enjoys it. I've tried giving him things here and there but most of the time he is too unsure about what he's being fed, and will only chew and spit it out. Maybe he's just picky.

But it does guarantee that he basically never gets table scraps. At least I can be responsible by default. 🙂

  • Buddy eats his dinner then I eat and well, he get's a little of what I'm having too. Usually chicken, veggies, rice, etc. No Indian sauce on it though as I don't want to get up at 2am for loose bowel relief thank you.
