Welcome to the forum! My Ayo is 9 months old today, and trust me it gets better everyday, it's been amazing having him. Have had about four or five really frustrating days but now I really feel we both got the hang of it. we are actually training for our first show here In a couple of weeks
I recently "married" a Basenji!

Thank you all for your welcoming words! I'm learning alot by reading your posts. Sounds like some of the things I think are "weird" about Haley are actually normal for Basenjis…...but, a few things may be uniquely HER. I'm trying to figure out if she has separation anxiety or is just MAD at me when I leave the house without her.......I'm going to try a few things that I've read in this forum. Thanks everyone!

Welcome to the forum. Don't forget to post some pics
-
Thank you….........OK, I'll post pics as soon as I can gather them together.

Welcome to the forum!! When you marry a Basenji is it "Barooo I do"?
-
hee-hee Yes, I 'spose so! Unfortunately Haley was the only family member who DIDN'T get to attend the wedding. We were married on the steps of the Sacramento capitol building…..only my 2 sons and my husband's 3 sons attending. I'm so glad my step-dog is a girl!! ha-ha
-
Ooh - you and she are quite outnumbered with all of those boys! You girls better stick together!!
-
Welcome Sadie! Yes, she may be quite mad when you leave. After all those years in a house loaded with testosterone, she probably feels she's found her estrogen soul mate :D.
An online Basenji dictionary would not have a definition for "weird". It would just say "see 'Normal', 'Attention Getting', 'Innate Behavior', 'Prozak'," and be supported by google ad pop-ups for king size beds, toilet paper sales, underwear outlet stores, and indestructible dog toys (which we all know only exist in fantasy land). :D:D

LOL snorky998! So true! Welcome Sybersade!

Hmmmmm….......I'm trying to figure out how to add pictures to a post.
Hey! It worked! This is a picture of our wedding in front of the capitol building in Sacramento, CA. Me, John, my 2 sons, and his 3 sons.
I'll try to post some pics of Haley next.

"Enchanting", yes, excellent decription. They just get in your heart and you're done. Despite of, or because of, their quirks/behaviors we just love them.

Great pictures Sadie, thanks for sharing. Haley is adorable..
on a side note, Otis will cross his paws too and he loves to lay down on the edge of the bed/couch like that with paws hanging over the edge.. -
What cute pics!!! Looks like you two are forming quite the pack.
