Scottish Kennel Club Show this weekend

Basenji Meetups & Events
  • I'll be there with my two!

It's wet, wet, wet here too. No surprises there then!

  • We are supposed to be going. However, i came home tonight to find Milo covered in lumps! Allergic reaction to something i suspect, but what i don't know. Could be a bite, don't think it's anything he's eaten. Have given him some Benadryl and a bath. He seems okay apart from the unsightly bumps. If no change by tomorrow, will be a visit to the vet. So we will have to see what happens over the next couple of days :-(

    Oh dear poor Milo:(

Cali had a similar thing a few years back which was caused by harvest mites. Does he have any red stuff between his toes?

  • No Jenny, there doesn't seem to be anything there. He just erupted in these bumps within an hour my hubby said. He'd been out with the dogs a walk and was only back a while when he noticed Milo breaking out in these lumps/hives.
I hope it settles, he's having a nap now.

Just a thought as it is the right time of year. Hope he is better soon poor boy.

  • Thanks. I've been reading through the threads about the same symptoms. It's all guess work though since you don't really know what's caused it. I hope he'll be ok tomorrow. Fingers crossed etc.

That's the problem isn't it:rolleyes: could be 1 of 100 things. Fingers crossed he will be ok for Sunday.

  • We'll still come to the show, whether we can show Milo or not. Hopefully we will have Milo there though.

Hi Quercus! I was SO disappointed that we couldnt make it, but the reason why made up for it, we were driving to chicago to pick up Meeka who we adopted from BRAT.. Saturday was the only day we could get her, and we left at 6am and didnt get back till 9pm.. darn snow storm! We wanted to go sunday but again the snow, and we didnt want to leave her the first day she was home! How did the show go?? i meant to post saying i wasnt going to make it, but i was getting all the plans ready to pick up meeka and it slipped my mind..

@jys1011: I don't know what it means…but YAY HOORAY!! :D I can't wait to go & see a Basenji show. Supposedly my C3 is Ch & has been to shows before but I would NEVER believe this myself since he is SO hyper around other dogs. I don't know how he would ever make it into a ring without disrupting the whole event!! :D The wife did tell me there is a Show in New Jersey they will go to next year(Trenton area)…...when it gets closer I'll let you know. The more I think I'm learning about the Dog show scene, the more confused I get.......maybe that's why the wife leaves me home.[image: eusa_think.gif]

Just got back from the Harrisburg show. Willy was only one in his class again and Jasper got Reserve Winner again. NBC was roaming around with a camera crew and came over to interview our little group and asked us about Basenji's. They said the show will air on Thanksgiving day nationally, how much of the interview will make the cut I don't know, but I will certainly watch to see if any of it does.:D
