@donc How about that ! I always thought it was just Marvin being. . . Marvin ! I didn't realise the refusal ever to ask directions was in-built in his DNA.
Lovely story ! Cheered me up no end !
Was just spending a lazy afternoon clicking between Sally's site and the OFFA site (yeh, I know, get a life Dawn:)) and I found this statement on a link from CGD (Mizzou), info provided by BCOA….
…" Presently, there is no test that indicates whether or not a dog has genes for Fanconi syndrome"...
I thought that's what the DNA database was intended for; to provide genetic linkage markers for Fanconi.

Does this need to be updated, or have just interpreted this wrong?
That is several years old and needs to be updated.
Certainly is very, very old… I will send an email to Sal (BCOA president) and she can find out who would be responsible to update
The newest date I could find on that was 2003.
Thanks Michael and Pat. We so often reference OFFA and BCOA to new or potential owners, that I think these sites need to be monitored for accurate/current info.
I know it's not your job, but thanks for helping. Dawn

Not sure how connected that site is to OFA or BCOA other then the links they have back to each…. but I did hear back from Sal and she will refer it on to be "fixed" and update with if nothing else just a link to BCOA

Not sure what you mean about how connected "that site is to OFA".
Here's the link: http://www.caninegeneticdiseases.net/CGD_main.htm
The link IS the University, and the research/database. Canine Genetic Diseases Network.

I think that I meant the the other way, OFA site doesn't have links to this site
While we are talking about OFA, can i just ask a question?
If a Dog is registered as a carrier on Sallys site but does not appear on the OFA site, is this because when it was first set up , things were recorded differently?

Sally gets her information the same as OFA, so it on her site, should be in OFA also? You can send an email to OFA and ask about that particular dog.
Thanks Pat, will do.
