Yay, thanks for sharing. I don't see much Basenji action on it yet, but I'll keep a watch on it. Also very interesting to get a UK perspective, too.
Reptile Room Basenji Park
-
CannisBasenji said he was going to post pictures of his reptiles…..maybe he meant next year.:D
I'll help him out. The Reptile room and pond in our basement.......yep we're crazy! Enjoy!

That is VERY cool! My three year old was looking over my shoulder and said "it's the zoo!" then he said, "no, it's the jungle"! Very nice…what kind of herps?

My two boys have had all kinds of things over the years, now it's mostly turtles, tortise's, fish and a Caimen. After a few escapes, I had to ban the snakes.:) I think there's about 8 turtles of different species and the Caimen living in the pond. They used to have things in seperate tanks, this seemed like a logical solution to all the clutter. My Son would be able to tell you what everything is, I'll get him on the ball.;)
We'll post some pics soon.

Yes it's Zoo around here.:D

Wow! Amazing place you've got there!

Wow! Amazing place you've got there!
Now you know why we kiddingly call it Basenji Park…....We don't have the Conurs anymore, they just drove the Senji's nuts. The alligator in the above picture is gone now too, he just got to big to deal with.
-
I must say…you are nuts! (Sorry ;-0) I have 5 human kids and 1 B and can't imagine having time to construct all this. As I look at your "jungle" more tho, I think that all my "children" would fit in very well there!! When can I make a reservation for them?!!

We're all little kids at heart, kids love to come to our house and we love to have them enjoying all the fun and animals. Our kids are 21 and 26 and don't seem to be in any hurry to leave…...I wonder why?:D

Wow what a great setup! That looks fantastic. Once I move to a bigger place it's going to be littered with aquariums…because I love aquatic pets! Once I visited a betta breeder in Phoenix and he had a fantastic fish room just for his bettas...I really want one of my own now...it will be handy for all my beautifull bettas!I doubt my fish room will look 1/2 as cool as your reptile room....It really does look like a zoo!

You'd just love my electric bill Bettawhippet…....the beauty of Betta's, no pumps required!;)

That is AMAZING!!!! It looks like a display at the Baltimore Aquarium at Inner Harbor! The caiman is a beautiful specimen! As are the tortoises! I can imagine the conures would drive your furry pack nuts! They're chatter-boxes, for sure! The arrowana and stingrays are just, WOW!!! I can't even begin to imagine the maintenance your sons/family must put into all that! Do you own stock in a pet supply store? haha! I'm purposefully ignoring the snakes - I have a phobia - heehee! Stunning photos! Thanks so much for sharing your private zoo!
-
As for the arrowana it now lives at the baltimore aquarium, in the amazon section. Also two of the tortioses are from the aquarium as well. Yellow foot tortioses. The stuff isnt that hard to keep, just takes a little knowledge and time. As for the caiman, that actually is an alligator, he has moved on to better things, he was being babysat by us. The caiman we do have is a smooth fronted caiman, its a dwarf type it will only reach a max of 5ft. We will have to post some picks of him.
-
ONLY 5 ft.?????? I don't want to know what you feed it…the pups might look appetizing...I'm getting scared for them!
-
pups dont need to worry he only eats fish. Also he has been there longer than some of the basenjis, so he is used to them and them to him, each have a good respect for each. Caiman are the most shy out of all the crocodillians, They are not the top of the food chain in south america, a snake is. This makes them wary, our caiman is only seen at night or if someone is going to feed him.
-
Whew! I was not sleeping at night…imagining BB's post in a few years...
-
WOW!!!
