Fight with a cat - Lenny injured?

    So the vet prescribed clavamox and rimadyl which i gave to lenny when we got home. he's been pretty much lethargic and sleeping all evening, and i just picked him up to take him upstairs and noticed his ears seem unusually hot. he has been curled up in a ball in his dog bed so that could have something to do with it, but i'm not sure.

    i called the vet and she says neither drug should cause an elevated temperature, or lethargic behavior.

    maybe he's just recovering from the excitement of the day, but he seems way less lively and his ears are hotter than normal. unfortunately i don't have a thermometer otherwise i'd take his temp properly. i was just comparing them to Tayda's ears and thought they seemed warmer.

    When Phoenix got into a fight a few mths back with his brother My vet prescribed the same thing and it made Phoenix sleepy it's the pain killers i believe that do it cuz when he was done with them he was back to his ole self again . i wouldnt worry too much maybe just the excitment from the vet the fight and the meds. He's not throwing up right ? But i would say it's the pain meds that are making him lethargic..

    I hope he feels better soon !!!!

    Tillo fighting during agility training

    Well.. tonight we had a 30 min. training to practice the weave poles. Tillo did ok. He was more excited than normal when we got out of the car and he had a big ridge when we walked to the field, but we were there 30 min before we started, so he was all calmed down at the beginning of the training :) I asked the trainer what he is going to do with Tillo and the Shar pei and he isn't sure yet.. :confused: This wednesday he will have a look and discuss it with the other trainers. He said that there is always a possibility that Tillo will be in a group with a male he doesn't like… so he doesn't think it's necessary to change the group. I told him I will quit and look for another training if he doesn't change something.. We'll see.. we'll see...

    Both Abby and Cooper love my cat, love to chase him. He's pretty smart though he's know how to get away from them. We have our formal dining room blocked off with baby gates so he can go in there and eat and not be bothered by the dogs. Plus apparently Cooper looooooves cat food. Then again Cooper loves all food.

    Kiro Gurl, That's a great pic. I have a bay window on which my 2 are constantly watching the goings on in the neighborhood. Someone in the house will say, "where's the dogs?" and the inevitable reply is "they're on Neighborhood Watch duty." Needless to say we are alerted to every unwanted intruder…..marauding cats, wilily squirrels, and those despicably lawless off leash dogs (with the occasional 'bad to the bone' large wild bird thrown in for good measure;) ) sigh, I feel sooooo safe. I thank Darwin every day that they don't have opposable thumbs 'cuz they'd be unlocking and opening the door for anyone they deemed as a suitable playmate, tummy scratcher, or cuddler:D ! Now that you have a 'window watcher' too, I suggest you invest in windex. There's nothing better to get those dog snot streaks off the windows!! (BTW...welcome to the forums toddsgirl)

    =) That sounds much like our place just not nearly as spacious. Well, they appear to have been calmer but they're probably just messing with my mind.

    I am so glad to see I am not the only one dealing with this issue. We got Bella when she was four months old and the chase has been on ever since. She turned one year old on December 27th and I am still dealing with this. Eight months of cat chasing and I think I am going looney here. :eek:
