    She is now fully sponsored to any rescue that takes her! I assume this means the $100 adoption fee is covered which includes her spay and vetting! If anyone knows a rescue that could take her, please let them know!     Oh, what a sweetie. He looks like such a lovely dog, especially by what is mentioned about him. It kills me when these animals are 'disposed of'. Would a couple get rid of a child because they have to work? In my animal loving world, it's no different for me. Pets are family, not a commodity. Okay, will get off my soapbox now.

    @sharronhurlbut: In case you all don't know, Joanne does a great job for all dogs, being the basenji mix rep. She is an angel on this earth. I can only help the dogs I do because there is a great network of Basenji people out there willing to help. I hope I can find someone who can help on this one, I don't usually have to ask Basenji people outside of BRAT but this is proving to be a tough one. I am trying to transport a little Basenji mix from Birch Tree, MO, where he was saved from being gassed, to his foster home in Wichita, KS. The person who pulled him from the shelter will drive him towards Springfield, and his foster mom will head east from Wichita. I am hoping to find someone around Springfield, MO who might consider transporting this dog part way to Wichita, Parsons maybe? I don't have a set date but I'd like to move him soon. He is about a year old, healthy, a little timid, good with other dogs. If you could possibly help this little dog I'd love to hear from you, please e-mail giza1@wildroseinternet.ca I have a picture of him but I haven't figured out how to get it up here.     @BasenjiDiva: Wow, Vicki. Although we are down in Savannah, we also have a place up between Young Harris and Hiawassee. Maybe we could meet up sometime. Don't know how our little female hellion would do with your female though. Our male would probably be okay. Also would love to hear more about your petsitting business that you mentioned. When we are up there we would sometimes like to be able to leave for awhile without worrying about the beasties. I have two female Basenjis that are doing well together, but I, too, would be concerned about another female Basenji. Monday, I'm interviewing a retired older lady who pet sits and she will stay in the home all day and night, if needed. I need a dependable sitter, too. I often babysit for people who would like to go to dinner and get away w/o worrying about their pets. If I can't help you, I'm certain I can recommend several other dependable sitters.
