@donc - Not true that breeders traditionally breed for conformation only. Breeders (responsible breeders) breed for health, temperament and conformation. Health/temperament is at the top of the list. Breeders do of course look for certain conformation but that does not exclude Health & Temperament.
Tanza Breeding Plans

Well, we are all set for our planning breeding this fall. Just received the OFA results in the mail (soon will be posted on the OFA site with the rest of her tests) on our girl, Kylie for Hips and Elbows (hips good, elbows normal)… so we are getting excited.......
You can visit the parents at http://www.tanzabasenjis.net/LitterPlans.html

A nice pair:D Good luck with the breeding.
I am in the process of finding a male for my bitch for fall of 09 though not easy as people in the UK are not so keen to do the Fanconi test, only a handfull of males have been tested and none of them are what I am looking for:rolleyes: The joys of breeding.
-
That is true about the Fanconi test, but I think that people are starting to be more accepting of the test (in Europe). As with anything, we will always have the "people that doubt" tests… especially if they get results they don't like.
-
Nice couple, hope to see tri pups
-
What colors are their parents? They are such beautiful dogs.

Yes I think soon they will realise that if they don't test people are not going to allow their dogs to be used on untested bitches and vice versa, well that is what I'm saying to people that want to use my male, if the bitch isn't tested then there is no mating simple, so it is up to them at the end of the day.

Kylie's Sire and Dam are both Tri and Baily's sire is Red and Dam is Black & White, but both carry the Tri factor

Don't I wish…ggg... waiting for Kylie to decide to come in season is like watching "paint" dry....
This time last year she was in and out by now... but we think she is getting close, at least that is what her "housemate" thinks... So looks like we will be having mid January pups
