Please go to Basenjirescue.org and join as a member. It will show you are serious about helping. BRAT always needs good foster homes. A home visit will be required (not sure if that is possible at this time considering this COVID-19 crisis). It is especially helpful if you have basenji experience. Not always, but very often, a basenji coming into rescue has special needs (i.e., behavioral, medical, etc.). It is good to ask yourself if you and your family are willing to deal with that. Fostering is hard but it can also be a wonderful and rewarding thing to do.
Basenji mix transport help Lafayette, LA to Cortland, OH
-
I am a Basenji mix coordinator for BRAT, and I am trying to move a little Basenji mix from Lafayette, LA to Cortland, OH. "Gypsy" was pulled just in time from a shelter in Crowley, LA, and is now in boarding with a vet in Lafayette, LA. Her transport run is planned to leave LA on Saturday the 5th, and will be heading up through AL, TN and KY before it gets to Cortland, OH.
Her puller describes Gypsy as an absolute angel, she is about 2 years old, 20 pounds and loves all people and dogs. She is HW+ but don't worry, it's not contagious if your dog is on HW prevention, and I want her to get to OH so she can start treatment. She is now in heat but will be travelling in her own crate. Transporting an "in heat" female shouldn't be any more trouble, transporters will just have to be aware of that fact.
So, if you think that you could help transport this little dog could you please contact me at: giza1@wildroseinternet.ca
Please let me know exactly where you are, and how far you can drive.Thank you very much.
