Hey again - still dealing with Tayda's change in behavior…. i.e. growling at my husband, peeing in the house, newfound separation anxiety.
She was checked out at the vet - bloodwork done, Fanconi status is excellent, treated her for a possible UTI even though I didn't really think she had one - but she is still acting very strangely. Now I'm wondering if it has something to do with me being pregnant. Coincidentally we moved into our new house in Rhode Island and found out I was pregnant at about the same time.
Her behavior seems to be getting worse as I get closer to my due date (I'm 7 weeks away) and so now I'm really wondering if it has something to do with me being pregnant. She will sometimes pace around the house like she is looking for something, and then sometimes she will just squat and start peeing - even if she was outside recently. I have her in an expen during the day with a litter box at one end and she will sometimes pee in her bed - which she never used to do. She actually used to have free reign of the living room or kitchen while we were gone and was very reliable peeing in the litter box but not anymore. So we tried to go back to how we trained her to use the litter box in the first place... thinking we could gradually work up to having her free in the living room again but it's been months now and she still doesn't seem to get it. She is just very anxious in there. When we first litter box trained her it literally took less than a week.
She sleeps all night without having accidents. Sometimes she gets up once to go pee, but often times she goes 8-9 hours without having to pee. She sleeps in our bedroom on the floor next to Lenny.
Has anyone experienced this? Any suggestions on how we can help her to be more comfortable and less anxious? I cleaned up her pee about 5 times yesterday - it's getting pretty old....
