Housing: B friends in the Bay Area?

Off Topic
  • Hello all,

My two Bs and I are moving to the Bay Area (peninsula or San Jose) in June and want to find someone with a spare room to rent. A household with other Bs would be perfect!

If you have friends/associates in that area who might be willing to chat with me about housing, or refer me to someone that they know, please feel free to send them my email address. My intro and photos can be found at http://www.lori-stephens.com/SF.
    Thanks!

  • Lori, I am no where near you - I am in the suburbs of Vancouver, BC, but if I needed a roommate I would take you in immediately. Your bio rocks!

  • I sent your post and bio link to a friend who lives with her long term S.O. in San Francisco, they have a 3 bedroom, 2 bath home. They are pet-less currently, have had her beloved husky, and several cats. She used to live in Seattle, then SF, then lived in Sequim so you have lived in similar places. She is a physical therapist and teaches classes all over the country, also very outgoing and friendly, articulate, funny.

I have no idea if they are interested in a housemate, but thought I would put it out there for them (Sara & Paul). She has been thinking about getting a basenji, by the way, so would give them a chance to be around them!

  • Sorry Lori, my friend is probably leaving San Fran about the time you will be getting there.

Hi Lori, I live in Redwood City (mid peninsula). There's an off leash area (Pulgas Ridge) in San Carlos I take Buddy to that's up in the hills near Interstae 280. It's big and the dogs have a great time. http://www.openspace.org/preserves/maps/pr_pulgas_ridge.pdf The off leash area. A meet up at Fort Funston would be a lot of fun. Hi IMBJ, I'm not in Japan but my son & grandsons live in the Bay Area and he has a friend who teaches in Tokyo. No word yet from her. I'm glad so glad the tsunami spared SF. I hope you and your B are okay!

@wizard: Ah, but that was the old names for these hybrids. Now the PC term is anything with "oodle" at the end. No no no. If we're going to be PC, the correct PC term is "Designer Breed." Because you don't want to leave out the "ugles" of the world (pugles & the like), and it sound so fancy, like a dog Paris Hilton would have. I love it when people assume my girls are some unique & exotic (mixed breed) designer dogs, and they are always dissappointed when I tell them "No, its just a unique & exotic purebred primitive dog that's been around much much much longer than designer dogs." I actually had somebody at the dog park ask me if they were basenjis one day, and I replied Yes they are. They then asked "So they're miniatures?" I said "No, they are both within standard, just at the very small end of the standard." They insisted again they were toy basenjis. Whatever.

Hi and yes there is a small group of us here in LA. We meet up on Saturday's around 10ish at the Laurel Cyn Dog Park. The park is a good size located on a hill side with lots of tree's and benches. If the weather is nice we average about 5 Basenjis. It would be wonderful if you are able to swing by one day. I may take you up on that - if I can't get in where I typically stay and am familiar with. I've stayed in a couple of dives that I'd not care to return too. Seems like even if it's 'high' season - I should be able to risk waiting until I get there to see what the weather is like - I could go down to Fort Myers - I did that once before when it was too rainy and gloomy in Tampa area. I may just get one night somewhere certain and then just decide when I get there. Doesn't bother me much but hubby is a bit less willing to risk it.
