Kipawa and his FoPaw's play date - part 2

Show Off Your Dog
  • More photos. Again, I apologize for the uncertainty of the photos. I have a brain disorder that makes it difficult for me to remember things well. Or maybe it was because I was having too much fun! :)

    • The African dog is Dexter
    • my memory isn't that good, but I believe picture 86 is Kipawa's dad Sober. In the part 1 pictures, I believe Kipawa is penned up with his mom Karma. Therese, Kevin - correct me if I am wrong.

  • Looks like everyone had a good time…and it looks really hot! :)

I have a question. Is photo #73 the African? I know it is hard to tell from a sitting pic, but is it purebred...it looks really big and the ears seem funny - do they stand up? Do you have any other pics of it? Do you know its registered name? ...questions, questions... :)

  • I hope to make this event next year Fran!

Yes, Dexter the african basenji is #73. He was the biggest basenji there, but not by much. He was incredibly sweet and I don't remember Dexter getting into any 'discussions' with any other basenjis. His ears fold a little at the tip, but they do stand up.His tail is a little longer, and is not tightly curled. Sorry, but I don't know Dexter's registered name. I believe his owners read the forum. Perhaps they will let us know and provide more pics of Dexter.

  • He's a Lukuru but I don't know what he registered name is. I love his sister Peggy.

  • My dog and Dexter look almost identical. Other than Kentucky's tail being straight.

    I love your pics!

If I am not mistaken, Dexter is Lukuru Constellation Orion.

Keep in mind, unless you correct them "in the act" they really have no clue that they have done something wrong, or more to the point "what they did wrong"…. shredding is pretty natural to a Basenji

Usually we put presents under the tree, but I just don't dare since getting the B girls! Presents all hide in closets until it's actually time for them to be opened. We always wrap special treats for the girls and the cat as well, so they can tear something open to get to the goodies. Then the treats keep them busy while everyone else is unwrapping. The great-grandkids have been warned NOT to leave their stuff on the floor or where they look like dog toys on tables, etc.
