@misspodhradsky:
ROBYN your ok!! lol people have been wondering about youβ¦well Tanza i think was one and then i wasnt sure either.
I didn't realize that I was missed but thank you. Three weeks ago, I was unable to get my Mom on the phone so I went to her house. (She lived alone.) I found her laying on the floor just outside the bathroom. She had slipped in the bathroom, fell, and broke her hip. She had been laying there for hours. After a few days in the hospital, she was moved to a nursing home. It was supposed to be temporary but the trauma of the injury escalated her dementia. My siblings and I have been very busy trying to figure out what to do. I am also dealing with a health issue that will probably require surgery soon. Needless to say, I have been a bit "out of it" lately.
So would you mind going into detail on how you would pick names for some of them? EX: Special, Something, Moon, New Year, Red? lol I can kinda imagine the other ones but those i am not sure how you would make the names part. I may be slow today tho lol
These are just the litters that I bred myself. I have co-bred with other people and we used really nice themes that they chose.
Red - The litter was all red puppies but mostly because the names I liked went well with the word "red". (Sherwood's Red Baron LCM2 "Baron" still lives with me. He will be 16 on Dec 14.)
New Year was born on Jan 1st and Christmas Eve was born on Dec 24th (Sherwood's New Year Mischief "Mischief" just passed away recently at 14 1/2 years old.)
Time - A great theme that you can do a lot with. (Sherwood's Timeswept Promises "Pippin" still lives with me. She will be 14 on Dec 20.)
Moon - The dam's name was Ch. Sherwood's Red Moon Rising (from my "Red" litter) and was called Luna. We used "Moon" to honor her. (We lost Luna recently at the age of 15 1/2 years old. LVoss on this forum owns "Rally" from this litter and Nicky from my "Time" litter.)
Affair and Secret were my "oops" litters
Rain was to remember a late summer of constant downpours that led to flash flooding that went within a mile of my home. (The owners of Sherwood's Late Harvest Napa Rain "Dolce" are on this forum. I still have Sherwood's I Love A Rainy Night "Rainie" and Sherwood's Rainy Night In Georgia "Spot" from this litter.)
Cars - I let the buyer of the first puppy in the litter set the theme. She wanted to call her pup Lexus so I used a "Cars" theme. (The owners of Sherwood's Sweet Honey Chevelle "Chevy" are on this forum. The owners of Sherwood's Little Red Corvette "Cory" and Sherwood's Secret Keeper "Jayden" from my "secret" litter are on this forum.)
Something - I just liked the way it sounded with my kennel name. (The owner of Can Ch Sherwood's Something Sweet "Sugar" is on this forum. Ch Sherwood's Something Special "Bindi" lives with me.)
Southern - I'm a southern girl. Another word that sounds good with my kennel name.
Special - This litter was sire by my old man Baron. He has always been very special in my heart and thus I named the litter reflecting it.
I let the owner's of my singleton litter choose the registered name, Sherwood's Jedi Master. Her call name is "Ayla" after a jedi knight named Aayla Secura. (The husband chose it.)
Choosing a theme is a lot of fun but I always let the owners help pick out the registered name. I usually provide a list that they can choose from or they can come up with something within the theme on their own and I approve it. The owner's may call their dog anything they want though. Hope this helps.
