My dog Cash

Hello, my name is Lynne and I have a basenji mix. He is a great dog! He is our first Basenji. We rescued him from the local Humane Society only because we like his looks, we knew nothing about Basenji's. Wow were we in for a surprsie. Cash looks like a Basenji with the curly tail but stands a bit smaller. He has ALL the characteristics of a Basenji. We were in for a ride after bringing him home. Little did we know how smart, agile, fast, sweet, tricky, stubborn, lovable, obedient and proud he was. He is a beauty. I quickly became educated through the internet, books, trainers and BRAT about this amazing dog we brought home. I agreed to foster for BRAT and have had 2 mixes which I found homes for before ever needing to put them on the web-site. I now have rescued another small dog as she was going to be put down and I rec'd a call about her that was urgent. She is not Basenji, she is Italian Greyhound but she is quickly learning all of Cash's tricks! I loook forward to fostering Basenji's again in the future but 2 dogs is our family limit.
My daughter and her husband are expecting their first baby, due Sept. 5th. I would love to have a Basenji lover take care of our Cash while we are gone and as we visit them on other occasions. We live in Belleville, Illinois. Very - Very close to St. Louis, within 20 miles. (Of course we will pay for your time and love.) Please contact me if you can help us out.
If you are thinking of adopting a Basenji, they are amazing dogs, but teach yourself about them first so the experiences is wonderful for both of you. Consider a basenji mix too… they are great dogs! :)

His mother is Basenji, his father is German Shepherd. His Grandparents are Basenji!

He weighs between 25-28 pounds. 25 in the summer and puffs up to 28 in the winter.
