Basenji Wanted!

Basenjis For Sale or Wanted
  • Hi, I am looking for a puppy or a young basenji, red and white.
I am already an owner of a basenji and would like to add another to the family.
    Thanks.

  • Time to learn your import regulations…
it is very cool that the UK has changed and after 01-01-2012 you will not have to deal with the 6 month quarantine.
Pups can get their rabies vax at 12 weeks of age and then wait 21 days before import to the UK.
    Super cool!

  • Tily, I don't know anyone who still has pups in the UK… are you looking for a winter 2011 breeding ?

  • You wouldn't be interested in a 16month old red/white bitch???
Read all about her on the thread in rescues needing homes.
You can contact me on facebook on paws 'n' fur

    Vicki

  • Tilly29 I hope you'll contact vwithers - this bitch obviously needs a home soon.

  • Mindy is a beautiful Basenji and we are very interested in her if she is still available? She would be a perfect companion for our basenji Travis.
    Many thanks, Birkin family.

I think that many adopters would pay for the cost. And add to that if it is a situation that a person has contacted BRAT to give up the dog and he/she is not tested then they should be required to put up that fee. I think that BRAT does an excellent job in most respects, however this is one point that I really disagree with not testing. I am not sure that they would agree to test even if people covered the cost

It isn't that they are necessarily outside dogs…they are just incredibly "barky" dogs so they get sent outside a lot. Any and ever time anyone is out in our backyard, their dog barks and barks and bark for-ev-er until we go inside. Those dogs may drive us crazy, but they are still animals and we still feel bad for them :(

Schouiffy, there is indeed a Basenji Rescue in the UK - at times there are sevral dogs there but at present there don't appear to be any but you never know! We are very fortunate not to have as many (even proportionately) to the USA. What a pity it would be so expensive and complicated to take some of the USA Basenjis. There is often a waiting list for rescue Basenjis here so it's often possible to rehome dogs direct from the original home.. Debra - it is unusual for a club officer to have this position but unfortunately the other coordinators resigned and nobody could take on the job. I don't think that there are the dedicated people here that you have in the USA and Canada. I do admire the hard work that is put in to rehome Basenjis there.

Hi, welcome to the forum, nice to see someone elase from the UK here. Please tell us a bit more about your Basenji, have you any pics ? :D We lost our Basenji boy last year and have now got a 5 month old Puppy girl, Malaika. When we were looking for a Pup we were advised to go to shows to identify breeders.
