@tanza I don't generally buy bottled water, but I can see the benefit of using bottled water when traveling (or in areas where the water may present an issue). Great idea! Thank you!
Feeding Veggies and Dried Fruit
-
So I have some unsulfered mango and papaya that I give to my budgies. I heard that it's really good for dogs as well. I have given Basil some and he absolutely loves it. Especially since they're chewy so it takes him awhile to eat unlike the dog treats I bought. I've also mixed in some chopped carrots with his supper. Is there any other veggies or dried fruit/fresh fruit that your dogs really love?

Kipawa enjoys sweet potato, yams, carrots, peas, beans. As for fruit, he is not as interested in fruit as he is veggies. He will accept some apple, banana and canteloupe, but not much.
If you are pressed for time, often you can find fresh, pre-cut veggies at grocery stores. If you can't, spend an hour or so cutting some veggies up and bagging them to keep in the freezer. Kipawa seems to like this - and it's a nice, cool treat for the summer months.

My guys enjoy Watermelon
They also always loved squash…

I'll start trying those! Thank you

Bowpi likes mushy orange/yellow things like pumpkin, steamed/boiled carrots, sweet potatoes, squash…
Bowdu has a wider range of fruits and veggies that he enjoys. So far, this includes all of the above, as well as watermelon, cantaloupe, honeydew, apples, bananas, green beans, raw carrots... Once I accidentally dropped half a bag of frozen broccoli on the kitchen floor and Bowdu swooped right in and gobbled it all up. Easier than sweeping and tossing it all away, I suppose...

We just finished a mu shu pork here made with coleslaw mix, carrots, mushrooms and water chestnuts and green onions. After we finsihed there were some veggies left, pulled out the onions and set pot on the floor you would have thought they were getting steak! It was gone in a flash and the pot licked clean! Kell loves green beans, he will knock over his food bowl to get them out first then go around and clean the kibble off the floor!

every morning my husband has a banana with his cereal. Before he sits down to eat, he cuts 3 pieces of the banana and yells "kennel up" at which point my three fur-kids run to the dog bed in the kitchen, squeeze onto it (even though it can hardly hold all three) and wait, trembling with excitement, while he distributes their treats. It slays me every time - they are so rapt while waiting for this very, very special treat! Apparently my Basenji Cody will eat banana peels (I was warned to watch for this by his foster mom) but obviously I have never given him any. Strange what they will eat (banana peels) and what they won't (zucchini)!

how odd bewler - all of mine LOVE zucchini. Cooked or raw.

Oh, I wished mine did as I have more zucchini in my garden than I know what to do with! They just take it their mouths, get it all nice and chewed and then spit it out on the floor!LOL!

Other than what mine eat with their meals, which are cooked or raw and shredded, they don't "do" vegetables or fruits. I dropped a blueberry once and Zuni ran to pick it up. I thought she was going to eat it but instead she thought it was a great tiny toy to throw around.

What do you give them as meals that are raw or shredded?

yes, Zest decided NOT to eat the blueberry this morning. Thankfully the malinois ate it so it didn't get moved around the house and stepped on later. However, Z will eat craisins. (dried cranberries) I often put either in the muttloaf, so i thought maybe she'd eat the fresh blueberry.

Mine eat everything. In fact I have a dried fruit container for treats. However, it is for flavor. Dogs don't process them very well unless you pretty much pulverize. When I fed all raw, I put their fruits and veggies in the blender. Now, I just share because they love it.

Basilboy, I feed my girls Halshan raw which is raw meat and veggies. I doubt they have it up there but you may be able to find something comparable. I cook for my vizsla, he gets chicken and veggies…yam, carrots, kale, spinach, zucchini, whatever I decide to throw in there. They also get kibble.

Since I am a RAW vegan (meaning all I eat is RAW veggies, fruit and or nuts) , my packs gets lots and lots of treats in form of veggies and fruits..favorites are for sure watermelon ( I live on it :)), apples, avocadoes and oh, let's not forget about Pippin's fav…green smoothies..he loves lto lick my glass after I am done drinking it..hehe...so healthy. Although he is known to go into our chicken coop and just steal eggs out from under the hen, so he has an unhealthy side as well...;), they all steal eggs if I don't watch out...

LOL dogs are carnivores. If your dogs are restraining and eating only the eggs, not the chickens, I'd say GOOD DOGGIES, lol. Raw eggs, including the shells, are actually fine for dogs.
-
Debra, you are right about that…..our dachshund kills them if we let him wander unsupervised, but Pippin and Moses have not even attempted yet, they just love their little boneless chickies..i.e the eggs.
