Dogs really like peanut butter. You can go to the store and buy one of those Kongs and put peanut butter in it. If you give it to him everyday it will make his coat shinier and his stool softer.

I've read these dog food analyses (this site and others) and my question is … which is better, high protein or moderate protein? And what is the cutoff level?

You know this has been an ongoing discussion for years and years… I don't think there is any right or wrong answer.. just what seems to work the best for your animals... IMO

I was just thinking the right thing..Even if, lets say high protein is better (and I am only using that as an example) if your dog isn't doing well on it, it clearly can't be what is best, right?
So long as the food you feed is of good to great quality, you are doing good. -

I agree with Pat. If the 'best' dogfood gives your dog gas, or loose stools, it isn't the best for that dog.
Like Petra said, you feed a good to great quality food, hi or medium protein, whatever your dog likes that agrees with them.
