Hi from the Bay Area

  • Hi

My husband and I are proud owners of 2 basenjis. They are the light of our lives but also little terrors, as I'm sure you all know. Cassie, or better known as Toona, is 18 months and is smart as they come. Ody, or better known as Panda, is 10 weeks and lives up to his name - acts just like Ody from Garfield. They are both technically red and white but have tri markings with black around their muzzles, tips of ears and tail. They are sister and brother and act accordingly

Been reading stories on here for the past few days and have been thoroughly amused. Hope to meet/talk with many members and share stories.

We live in the Bay Area (Fremont) and would love to meet up with fellow basenji owners.

  • Hello…Glad you're here. We love pictures...:)

Too funny that you're in RWC. We just moved from there to Fremont. We used to frequent the dogpark in Foster City.

Wow! I take Buddy to the dog park in Menlo Park off Willow Road. They're resodding it now. We should meet up sometime. Buddy is just about 11 months and is super friendly.:D

We got our two from a breeder down in Walnut, CA - just outside Los Angeles. Hope to put up some pics soon.

Would love to meet up! Cassie absolutely loves playing with other dogs and is super friendly. We haven't taken Panda out yet since he still needs to finish off his shots but we think he's a friendly little guy, if not a bit shy.

Where do you take her to in Fremont?

  • Welcome! We are close to Fremont as well.

Some of us already met up in Palo Alto 2-3 month ago, I think now we have even more basenjis to a have a big meetup.

Please post meetup details in the existing Bay Area thread or start a new one:

A tired Basenji?!!! Joking apart, I agree with the previous posts. It is really important that she doesn't get something for nothing as Wizard advises make her work for it. Welcome to the Forum to you,Teagan and the others.

When I 1st got Kirabo, I had named her Hollie. A few mths later my wife told me every time I had a seizure, she would go crazy & wouldn't leave my side. Then 1 night I had a dream & God told me to name her Kirabo which means " a gift from God". She truly is God sent. Kirabo stays by my side & is constantly keeping her eyes on me, always observant of every-thing I do.

Luzambo, I too had one pass last March. After that I was left with one and said once he passed, I was going to be done with dogs – too much of work and emotional strain. Yep, I was going to be free to... well, to do something. Then I found a little girl related to Brie just 2 weeks later and 6 months later I have yet another. Yes, they're a lot of work at times, but so is most everything in life. I love having them around and the house would be often boring otherwise. I'm sure Pharaoh and my Brie are hanging out in their private club looking down on us saying "what are you guys doing down there?" And with a signature like yours, I don't think you'll be waiting long. Welcome to the forum!
