We are Kees-Jan and Anne-Marie from Marken, north of Amsterdam. Where do you live? Maybe we can walk together some time? Also check http://www.basenji-club.nl/ for basenji walks.
We have two daughters from Abotere Khamau, Lela and Binti (2,5 and 3,5 years old) - our first dogs, and we recognize a lot that you wrote.
People warned us about getting a basenji, but we have not been happier since they took over our house and hearts. Lela came with us as a pup (enought to keep you busy) and Binti joined half a year later - it took her around 1,5 years to really settle.

It's almost like they are twins!!!!
o:oYES - that's what I often hear. "Mum, look! Twins!"
But Zuri and Thabo really look similar to each other, when you are not used to it. He has a little bit more white in face than her. But the same leg is in brindle (the left one) down to the foot and the right leg is white.

I'm still waiting for Tillo to become more.. ggg.. He was more this summer.. but that wasn't the right 'more'

His weight is around 10kg - but doesn't matter what I give him to eat - it won't become more :p And he's a little more than 44,5cm… -

Yes - he has very intense eyes. Nearly yellow.
Everbody we meet likes his light eyes more than Zuris' dark ones. Even if they are a little too yellow for the standard -
