    Oregon has some of the most beautiful beaches in the country. My fav is Cannon Beach.
    Its very dog friendly as well. Hope you get a chance to see it.

    Hello,

    And Welcome. I am new to this forum as well but not new to the world of the Basenji: I got my little Red & White girl from BRAT 9 years ago this month. Her name is Zenta (AKA Zeenie) and she is still with me and is the matriarch of the pack. I have recently added a little black & white Basenji boy (his name is Ty) to our family and he is a "Golden Opportunity" dog from a local Basenji breeder: he is almost 3 years old and is being retired from the show arena and not being bred so now he is living with three gorgeous canine women: 1) The Matriarch Basenji, Zeenie (a red & white Goddess), 2) A delightful, fluffy white Goddess named Cali (an Eskie) and 3) A Beautiful Golden Goddess named Tater (a Lab/Beagle mix.)

    We have a happy little pack and look forward to sharing and gaining lots of information from our friends out there.

    Admittedly Basenjis and sheep are a problem. Thank you for such friendly welcomes. I have had some Basenjis who I did eventually manage to 'train'!!? to be safe with sheep and could wander among them and occasionally help to herd, others (including my current pack are killers and can't be left to wander freely where the sheep are. We have a double gate system for visitors. There was a time when I could have taken them all out for walks together but now I take them 3 at a time and my whole day is taken up with exercising dogs. When I get the hang of my digital camera I'll post some piccies. Nomrdggs - I'm not sure I have kept my sanity!!!! Tanza - I have actually seen some of our original imports - and I have attempted to breed as close to the original type as I can. I bred my last litter 4 years ago.

    Thank you for your reply Seko. Bandit is 11 weeks this Wednesday 6th Sept. When he turns around bearing his teeth and growling after being told off for being naughty, I point my finger at him saying a LOUD NO!! He doesn't like it, puts his ears back and looks at me. I have bought a clicker and will attempt to train him and my Lowchen "Alfie" together with liver treats. Wish me luck!! Angee
