  • On May 18th I sent off both Saba's and Ochre's Haemolitic Anaemia swabs to our Genetic Technologies…

I have been very impatiently waiting for these results, so I emailed the company yesterday, asking if the test had been done, I just couldnt wait anymore :).

I got an email from them this morning, telling me that the results had been sent over to me, early June... Still waiting for their arrival . They are sending another copy today...

Im so glad that they told me the answer, and Im very pleased to say that both are CLEAR :):D:):D:):D... Im very happy...

  • Congrats! that's great news!!!!!

  • Congrats on the great news! :D

  • Great news, congrats.

Hey, do you know, did Kylie have any litters this year?

  • Well that is just awesome news!!

  • Thanks for the congrats guys, Im a pretty proud mumma :)…

    Hi Tanza,

Kylie was going to have a year off this year, but at the very last minute, had a change of plans :)... She had a dog of hers going to Italy, (Australian Champion Wazazi Tinker Tailor), who was just about to be exported. He was with her. Electra, Ch Wazazi Awesome Glamour, was in season, and at the very last minute, she did the mating between these 2. Electra is my Ochre's mum... She is due next Wednesday, and I am particularly interested in what she has :D:D:D. Wonder why ??? 3 B's are no more work than 2 are they ;).

Tinker has done very well in Italy, he is unbeaten at breed level, has a few best in group, runner up best in group, and last weekend, he was awarded runner up best in show... Kylie, and his previous owners are VERY proud of this gorgeous boy. He has also obtained his Italian Championship as well, I think... I dont think there will be as many litters on the ground this year in Australia, or perhaps everybody is keeping it all a secret !!! The first couple of litters are on the ground, so it is starting to get exciting... Roll on next week :).

    saba.

  • @saba:

3 B's are no more work than 2 are they ;).

I found 2 B's easier than 1. To me, 3 are no more work than 2…but there is a LOT more noise! :D:D:D

    Do it, do it! :D:D:D

  • Hi Saba…
Tell Kylie I said Hi.... and hope that she has a grand litter..... let me know what Electra has...

And I agree, 3 is not any more trouble then 2...gggg

  • Im so glad to hear that 3 are no more "trouble", than 2. I think it would take more than that to turn me away, anyway :).

    Tanza,

I will certainly send Kylie, a "HI" from you. She is busy moving house, and finishing dog runs etc, etc, at the moment, so have not had email conversations from her for the last week or to, its nearly killing me too, I might add !!!

I think she is praying that Electra will hold onto those pups, till all is ok with the whelping area, what chance that ??? ;);)

EDIT; Will post when I hear of pups delivery…

  • Well today was the day, (during daylight hours as well :)), that Electra had her bubbas…

Electra and Tinker are the proud parents of 4 red boys and 2 red girls. She also had a little tri girl, much to everyones surprise, but unfortunately, (even after 40 mins of hard work), she was not able to be saved...

Mum and bubs are doing well... Kylie is winding down, from a stressful afternoon !!!

EDIT TO ADD... The whelping area was JUST finished...

  • Great news, sorry to hear about the little tri girl, though.
I am glad it went well and that it happened at a decent hour, aka, daylight..

I bet Kylie was really surprised over a Tri baby… that is too bad that they lost her.... Tell her congrats on the litter....

  • Thanks all…

I think Kylie is still getting over the shock of the tri, and is very disappointed that she didnt make it...

No pics yet, cos as such Kylies computer isnt up and working, after the move... The wait to see pics is nearly killing me :).

  • Congrats! That is Awesome! Hope to see pictures!

@Maca: Well i do my best about alerting about fanconi. there is a young vet that are bredding basenjis and making fanconi to his dogs and now have a litter from Summer and Blade the famous champion and will test all his litter prior to sell. So he is good news, im still not breeding Maca, looking for a brindle male tested and register, but lately there is no one. Now i member of the group have a litter but still he will make fanconi to the mom so im waiting to see the results to check if i get a puppy or maybe with Laika sick its time to just care my actual girls.. i dont know. Greetings and thanks for support.. I have used Maca but not for long as it tastes awful. I was using it raw, putting it in shakes, but I couldn't take the taste. Maybe cooking with it is the way to go, I did not know that was a good option. I still have most of mine, I think I'll give it a shot that way. But as far as It being a caffeine alternative, there is not any stimulant effect.

Kathy, I sure didn't mean to indicate it isn't a godsend or fantastic! Of course it is. I just meant… well as the Arabs say, Trust in G-d but tie your camel. Get the testing, use it to help guide breeding, retest if necessary, but keep doing the strip test. It's an easy if annoying process that protects your dog against testing errors or human errors.

As long as his CPP registration got entered before they received the blood sample, you'll hear eventually. If there was a delay in the registration, the blood results won't be posted and you'll have to call Liz.

@etzbseder: Well, I got the results back yesterday, and they say that Medjai is "PROBABLY AFFECTED WITH FANCONI SYNDROME". So, now I get about one more year of little worry before I start strip testing and waiting for the inevitable. Hang in there. It is a tough road ahead. neither you nor your dog will understand the changes that can happen so suddenly… but know that it is not with malicious intent that they pee and pee and pee. There are so many supporting groups and people out there to help you and your B thru this. You can have a good life even with this sentence hanging over you. Best of luck. Enjoy your B as they are today... don't worry about tomorrow. I'll keep you and your Medjai in my thoughts.
