Thanks everyone for the encouraging words! Yes Rescuing is the best option. Sure it is a no kill shelter but it makes room for new dogs to be rescued and it puts her in a wonderful home! She is SLOWLY coming along. She likes to try to come up in my lap now. Shes a wonderful lil dog and Anubis LOVES having someone his size around. She "Smiles" she will get excited and show all of her teeth and wag her tail…I try to get pics but she always gets scared of the camera.

I thought I would share a picture of Bella from my co-bred litter this year. I co-own her with my mom. She is my mom's only red and white basenji and my dad's nickname for her is "the red devil". She torments all the adults until someone plays her.

Aw, very pretty. How old is she?
-
She is 5 months old. She was born November 1.

She looks very nice. It's hard to get perspective from the picture, but about how big is she? Is she relatively close to her adult size?
-
She is a very pretty girl and even in the picture she looks like she is scoping out the scene to see what she can find to get into or who to pester.

She is getting close to her adult height. When the pic was taken she was about 1/4-1/2 inch shorter than her mom who is around 15 1/2 inches tall. Most of my dogs get almost all of their height by about 6 months and then it can take until they are 2 or 3 years old for them to fully fill out and mature.

I met Sawyer (Bella's brother in NC) this weekend and he is really sweet and very social. Piper took to him right away and really enjoyed playing with him. He's also lure crazy and is definitely going to be a great courser next year.
