@abonnard Pee pads got me through in the end, she would pee every 20 mins for the first months, then 40 mins, then she suddenly went to being able to hold it for many hours. One of the best purchases I got before she arrived was a small carpet washer, saved my sanity. The cleanup is so key otherwise they go back to the same spot.
You asked for photos :)

Okay, I'm trying to get used to this! I think I sent the photos to the wrong place, so I'll try again. Sorry
Here's jack, my Basenji-mix boyβ¦
Cheers,

Got these photos just fine.
Cute mix you have.
Any idea of the parents? -
He also looks very Kelpie-ish

Mom was a pure bred Basenji - and dad was a neighborhood Romeo of unknown origin. He's a little larger than a Basenji, but has the overall shape of one - including the Cinnabon tail. He also cleans himself, stares out the window for hours (perched on the back of a chair, of course) and doesn't bark.
He's incredibly independent - that took some getting used to after having had a biddable Golden retriever, but we've done lots of training and, if he wants to, he'll listen! We're his third guardians - the previous two couldn't handle his penchant for escape, and although the first month I thought we had made a grave mistake, I am now totally smitten! I know he's not like the other Basenjis here, but I have fallen in love with the breed and would love to be part of the group.
Cheers,

BewlerI understand, Ha ha, there are times after four years with Jazz and almost two with Keoki, we wonder if we've made a grave mistake
I wouldn't give these two up for the world: TOTALLY SMITTEN.
Of course, it helps a lot that I have Jazz β the MOST BEAUTIFUL Basenji ever born, and Keoki -- the CUTEST Basenji ever born. {never mind what the other people here may tell you. }

Cute, he is definitely doing the "basenji lean" on the couch.
-
He's very pretty. It's hard to tell exactly what color he is in the pics - is he black or a really dark brown?
-
