Nice, they are about in a few different adverts, I spot them every now and again.
Fetch!!!
-
Booger plays a variant of the fetch game… I throw a toy & hide, he fetches & drops the toy where I was at & then comes to find me.
I found a mini tennis ball for Lola & she will fetch that as long as I'm willing to throw it if there isn't anything else going on. She plays in the apartment, and if we take her out very late (like 2am... we have late schedules) when no cars are around, we'll let her out off leash & play fetch in the parking lot, which she loves. She will not do it at the park... too many other exciting things to do. -
When I got my B, Sahara I read that Basenjis do NOT play FETCH!!! Well, I said to myself, we will see. She loves to play, she will throw things she finds on the floor or outside and gets it on her own. She is so funny, sometimes she gets one of her stuffed toys and pitches it up in the air, and runs after it, I love watching her do this. We play fetch all the time especially if she is full of energy and is bored. We play inside and outside in the yard, she always brings it back to me, and if the hubby is home she will take turns with us, to him and then to me. She also never destuffs her toys, and she has favorites for fetch, I can put them in her toy box and she will pick out the one she wants to fetch with, she is our baby girl and we love her so much, she makes us laugh everyday with her antics, she has a great loving personality.

Brando will play fetch until he drops…he LOVES it.
Ruby will join in when Brando is fetching and bring the ball back once in a while because she sees him having so much fun and she wants the attention he is getting. She'll do it a couple of times, but otherwise she isn't interested in it.

Neither my previous beastie nor the current one play fetch
Instead EL D is more than happy to pitch toys in the air and chase after it himself. But if I try to toss one, he just looks at me like "what the heck do you think you're doing". -
Disclaimer, bragging below
So lately Indi has been playing fetch in the appt. Which rocks because everyone knows Basenjis don't play fetch!! I tried to migrate the game outside but alas too many distractions. Until….
TONIGHT I took him out to monster a bit before bedtime and when I tried to play fetch we played 5x in a row without any problem. Plus he ran around with the leash dragging behind, saw a pup he liked to play with but still came back on request.
Such a smart little bugger....and sleeping in his kennel all tired now
Ok the brags over
Wow, that's great!
Mirtillo only plays fetch when I cheat: When I throw something he always gets it and brings it to his pillow.. So…. if I'm standing in front of his pillow... he returns it (sort of) -
Cool! Beegin will fetch a bit also but only in my apartment. I usually have to have two balls to play with though. He doesn't like to drop the one in his mouth until I toss the second one!
-
Roxy and I play fetch every night with a tennis ball in the house. Most of the time she'll bring the ball back near me and drops it. She always runs after it when thrown.
-
I have fetch and spit b's. Run out, pick it up, spit it out, and look at me as if to say "bring it back yourself"!!
-
Kaycee has always played fetch. We didn't teach her, she just did it!
Right from when she was little we would throw a ball or toy, wether it be in the backyard or in the house and she always brings it back right into our hands. I know B's as a rule don't particularly like water but yet again, she goes swimming in the spa with the kids and love chasing the sprinklers out the back during summer. It's her favourite pastime. -
Is Kaycee a purebreed Basenji, I have never heard of a B liking to chase water sprinklers, come on, I need a picture of that, that's too cute.
-
Mine chase the hose spray… bite at it.... while they don't bother with the sprinklers... take out the hose to wash off the patio.. and they are after that stream like crazy

Zpuppy likes to play fetch. Even outside. (mostly outside really) Of course, I've worked very hard to make that a reinforcing game.
