Diana, we seem to have a little bit of a language barrier.... What is your natural language?
WANTED: R/W Female Basenji puppy/adult.

Did you see this thread, http://basenjiforums.com/showthread.php?t=3794
It is a boy and a young adult not a puppy.
And from a good breeder, who is not in it for the money.
Giving for profit breedes your hard earned money for ANY reason, even if it is to give a dog a good home, will only incourage them to keep breeding iresponsibly. The only way to truly slow/stop these types of breeders is to hit them where it hurts(their pocketbooks).

And close enough to you also…. it would be a good choice and then later if you wanted to add a 2nd, would be fairly easy...

The lady who wanted 1500 sent me pictures of the male, he is very cute but I told her I thought 1500 was way to pricey and I said good luck to finding him a home I guess I'll keep looking and all she said was Good luck in the last e-mail..

Good for you… She sold a pup around here and got... (everyone sitting down)... 3,000.00 as a potential show dog.. NOT, NOT even close... it is way to sad to see someone that paid that kind of money period....

There is a sucker born every minute…as someone said...
Some lazy folks who don't do their homework, think $$ shows quality.
We all know that is totally false in the dog world.
I only hope the dogs go into nice homes.
That is what I want for every b out there! -
It is amazing that so many people think that the "higher" the price the better the quality.. regardless of what they purchase…
-
Lazy is part of it as well.
If your buying a car, at least my family goes to the trouble to so some reading re pros and cons.
Those with $$$ and the "I want" thinking, just go down and buy the pretty red one.
I think often, that is what we are dealing with… -
When she told me 1,500 I was shocked. He's a pretty dog, but I can't afford to pay that kind of money. I want a B but c'mon now.. I'll wait, let me know when you guys will be breeding this year if at all. I would like to know I'm getting from a responsible breeder who doesn't care about charging me a million dollars ;o)
-
Have you been in touch with yodeldogs about Rocky? There are many good breeders in the South East. I would think you would be able to get on a waiting list for fall if you started to talk to breeders now.

I know of a very nice r/w adult female up for adoption, she's located in Ohio; you can email her foster mum at cworsham@ctcn.net or you can drop me a note Meg can be viewed on Petfinder.com CCK9s New Leash on Life has her bio up; it's a non-kill rescue based out of Ohio.
Good Luck!
As for the quote of people thinking the higher price means a better animal…. I bought my Quarter Horse for $600.00 that was cheap in 1992; he was PRICELESS!

I am really amazed at some of the prices that puppy mills and large volumn back yard breeders are charging for their puppies - and poor specimins to boot.

I think they're trying to look legit! Knowing that most "ethical" breeders ask a good amount for our dogs (course mind you we have a lot of money stuck into our dogs prior to the "sale" price). And the fact that we're not into dogs to make money.
