And word does get back to the owner sometimes.
I sure hope if I ever have a dog in a show with a handler and not myself, that I will hear about it from other contestants..that is just plain right thing to do..IMO.

and it is sadly basenji-related
that poor woman…I can't even imagine.
I cannot imagine….. I don't even want to try. Unbelievable story.
How tragic for her. I too cannot even imagine having so much loss at once.

How sad isn´t there a BRAT rescue in Canada that might talk to her and ask if she want´s a rescue dog for free when the time is right.

I must admit that one of my immediate thoughts was that senior basenji rescue in Michigan! I thought….those two need each other! But, as you said....when the time is right.

So sad. My heart truly aches for this woman
Brat is throughout Canada and the US.
I'd love to see her end up with a needy basenji, but for right now it looks like the poor woman is homeless.
This really is so sad, it sounds like she has family and friends around her who will help her get through this. To lose your husband, your home and your dog is just too much.
This woman will be in my thoughts and prayers.
