Chewing nails

Does anyone elses B chew their nails? I am not sure if she is trying to clean them or just chews on them for no reason?

Yes, our Ivy chews her nails. Quite often, actually…some of them she actually changes the shape of them a little. None of our others do...figures, she is always the odd ball...oh and she is a tri too ;)

Cory sometimes chews her nails also…..no rhyme or reason for it. She just seems to occasionally notice them and decide they need to be chewed.

Yes my first B Zillah chewed her nails all the time I guess it was because she hated me trimming them, she preferred to do it herself.

Tig will chew his nails but not really applying pressure, more like nibbles on them

Thats pretty funny, neither of mine chew their nails. I wish they did though! Cutting their nails is always an adventure. Lenny acts like I'm trying to amputate his paws!

Mine don't chew their nails, and like you I rather wish Keoki did.
Why he thinks I'm trying to murder him I do not know….. if he'd just be still
it'd be over so much faster and easier on both of us! {Jazz, of course, just lays there cooperatively. I think she missed a few of her 'how to be a Basenji' classes, LOL}

Oh, was did he have surgery? I think we forgot to tell him. :D

You were all correct, he did just fine. Dragged the vet assistant out to the waiting room to greet us afterward, and almost immediately upon coming home starting jumping all over the kids, and wrestling with Jazz. There was/is NO holding him down.
He is doing awesome.

Yes, my male basenji, he is red and white. When he is done playing occasionally he starts biting his nails. Only for a short while.

My first basenji used to bite his nails all the time. He especially liked doing it around 2 in the morning.:eek:
