Thank you, thank you. I feel much better knowing that her "pink skin" is normal. This site has been so helpful and educational to me…which in turn benefits Lillie. For that, I thank you!
Jodie:)
Hollie even has a pink area on her nose that gets a deeper pink when she has been running and playing. Back in December she had an allergic reaction to something and the area on her nose was almost red in color.

The body odour would suggest to me there is something being ingested that his body doesn't approve of. I would change his diet to something grain free to start with and I would also talk to a vet who is experienced with Basenjis. Not just any vet. Find one who knows our breed and is prepared to research your problem relative to Basenjis
my tri boy has a black spot right where I assumed the umbilicus attachment was at birth. my guess would be a leftover mark as it healed the pigment was just darker….like a scar???
One thing that came to my mind:
At our vet clinic we sell Science Diet. They have a sensitive skin formula. I find all of their foods to be made in mind of the animals needs and it is highly recommended by our veterinarians. Although it might be more costly..

Also what kind of filter are you using? We use the allergen filters by 3M and they do make a difference for husband who has had allergies all his life.
