Your boy looks just lie my boy Rickie, now 13 years old...my heart is saddened by your loss. May I ask, was it old age?

These fabulous creatures are never forgotten. They live on in hearts, pictures, stories and reminiscence. Doesn't matter how many we lose over how many years. Every one has a special place.
Do you remember when . . . how . . . always used to . . . Keeps them all ever fresh.

@hawaiiboyinsf For some reason I just now digested your username. Brah, we're neighbors. I'm South Bay. Pre Covid SF is my favorite big city to visit. Did you keep Yoda and Shaka in SF? I'm really curious about that. How'd that work? Yoda was 17, so you had something figured out. If you're still in the area and need to pet a Basenge... we can make that happen.

@branch yes! And a nice and long one. His brother passed at 11 years old due to liver issues.

@jengosmonkey the boys, Shaka & Yoda & I lived in downtown SJ until ‘99, then moved to the city on Dolores street next to Dolores Park so that was their backyard/daily playground. More pics of them on Instagram #ShakaAndYoda.

@hawaiiboyinsf Any chance of learning their parentage ?
Mom, Dad and date of birth, so I can be sure they are included in the online Basenji pedigrees database ? and you could send me (email address is on the websites in signature block) photos to illustrate their pedigrees if they are already there - or if we include them now.

I looked up Delores Park. I know of it, but have never seen it. It's dang BIG! Very nice. Was Shaka male or female? Not to get too personal, but were you in a house or an apartment? With a Basenji... more impressive if an apartment. That aside...to be in a big ol' city like San Francisco with a Basenji, who lived to be 17, I'm clapping loudly while standing. WELL DONE! We, who love our Basenjis, salute you!!
I'm not on Instagram, but I just might have to so I can see your pics. Yoda is such a great name for a Basenji. I'd use Grogu or Yaddle on a Basenji in a second if I could. Be well, think happy Yoda&Shaka thoughts and make yourself some Masubi.
