Hey guys
I would like to know about breeders in the UK as I am carefully considering to get this breed. I have done alot of looking them up online readings Nd more I so this the more I want one.
Could someone shed any light on any breeder in UK.?
I am looking for pure brown basenji not in bred at all

I suggest you contact the breed clubs and go to some shows and meet them personally.
As for in-bred, good luck with that. It is a limited gene pool, most lines have some line breeding. It really is okay.
At this point, most puppies have been born or are already promised. So it is a good time to get on a waiting list for fall-winter litters for the 2018-19 puppies.

I found a lovely breeder in France and we met in Dover to pick up our basenji 5 years ago. There may still be puppies around - keep searching. Ours was 3 months old when we got him.
@mani13, each of the UK bred clubs have FB pages and through them you can gain more information. They are - Basenji Club of Great Britain, Basenji Owners and Breeders Association and Northern Basenji. You can also message each of the secretaries of these clubs and they may have information about available puppies although this is rather late in the year. You now have the opportunity to contact breeders for future planned litters and get much more information about our beautiful breed. There is plenty of time for that until the next litters are born either later in the year or occasionally in mid-year. Some may be able to invite you into their Basenji homes so that you can assess whether this is truly the breed for you (they are not to everybody's taste!). Incidentally, Basenjis aren't brown (or at least shouldn't be!). I wish you every good luck and in the meantime also peruse the Basenji Forums. Where are you based in the UK?
Hello, Indeed I would recommend you pop along to one of the Basenji breed clubs in your area.....if you let me know where in the UK you live I can give you the details.
In terms of "in breeding" the breeding COI for UK Basenjis is 3.7% and my own last litter was 1.3%, therefore most (not all) litters in the UK are very diverse because of the large volume of imports over the last 10 years or so.
I would also recommend you consider some research into the health testing for our breed. Health testing is not mandatory in the UK and therefore we are relying on conscientious breeders to fully health test as a matter of good practise.
You will get lots of sound advice from anyone of the three breed clubs so do pop along if you can.
I know there are many litters planning in the UK this winter, so now would be a good time to meet the breed and some breeders.

@patty hey patty thank you so much for your detailed response. Unfortunately I don't have Facebook and won't have it again due to past experience so I'm trying to find information without Facebook which yes is proving to be difficult :(.
Yes not brown maybe red is the right word tan and white. I would love to be able to visit one in the homes as I do want to make the right decesion.
I'm not ready to have one right at this time as I need to get a few things sorted but I am just doing the groundwork now for it as I want to be prepared for when I actually find a breeder and purchase one as I am.very adamant I would love this breed.

I have just read somewhere that first time owners should not get a basenji is this true ? Because I have truly got my heart set on this breed after all the reading up and finding out more about them 
@mani13 - Don't know were you read that, but it is not true. What is important is that you learn about the breed, spend time with the breeder you choose... and as with any breed you get, know that it is life changing. You are now their family and as such, they need to be part of the family.
I wouldn't recommend them as first or 10th dog, unless you are going to visit with the breed and get to know them really well . In some ways, being a first-time owner is an advantage because you don't expect them to act like other dogs . There are many advantages to a Basenji , as long as you learn the disadvantages . There is a tendency for dog aggression , you may need special trash cans to keep them out of the trash , you may need leashes with a 12 to 18 inch chain between the collar and leash so they can't snake their head around and cut their leash in half , and many are most happy if you share your bed with them .
You're doing your homework, you'll be ready.
Amazing they just sound fabulous.. don't think my husband will allow the sharing bed lol I would love it to be honest.. would they still be ok not sharing a bed ?
They don't all share the bed. A nice comfy bed next to yours might do.
