Ask the breeder how big the sire and dam are. That's a good idea. My first basenji, who was a champion, weighed nearly 26 pounds when she matured. My 2nd one would have been about that, but thanks to steroids, we did good to keep her at 30. My current rescue is a giant. We won't go there. I first dreamed of a SMALL dog, maybe 15 pounds tops after years of being a BIG DOG person (rottweilers and chows). I don't see that ever happening.
A few new pictures of my Elliot :)

Elliott is so adorable! Love that he lays with his legs straight out behind him - all dogs look so cute like that. Makes us want to just play with their pads. My girls don't lay like that - waaah.

Elliot is a very handsome boy! And so fun-loving!
Ava flattens out exactly like that… and she would love to have a go at my fish, too. I had to put a net over the pond-- not because of the herons, but because of the curly tailed predator. The other day, I caught her chewing through the net, and I know for a fact that she would have NO issue jumping in the water to see what she could catch. Gotta love 'em!
