Our Wonderful St Paddy's day show…

Basenji Showing
  • I just wanted to have a small brag…

Our 2 girls did us very proud, (both 2 and 4 legged :-)...), at the St Patricks Day Show we attended, last Saturday...

Imogen, (14yrs), showed Ch Wazazi Living Doll, Vanda, to BOB, and BIG 2nd, (Runner-up Best In the Hound Group), and best Intermediate in Group, (dogs/bitches aged 18-36 months)... Olivia,(16yrs), showed Ch Wazazi High Expectations, Ochre to RUBOB and best Open in Group, (dogs/bitches older than 6 months)... My daughters showed the dogs beautifully and I was a very proud and happy strapper !!!!!!!!!!!

Then we went in for Best Intermediate in Show, against the dogs from the other 6 groups, who had won their best intermediate in groups as well, and....................................................................................................... Vanda was awarded BEST INTERMEDIATE IN SHOW... She beat, MBIS, SBIS, and Grand Champions, to win this award...

VERY, VERY happy with that days results... Spoke to the judge who awarded Vanda R-Up in Group, and she said that IF Vanda had have moved around the ring on her last workout, without breaking her gait, she would have been BIG... Vanda is a little minx, and without fail, she will always break in her workout. Its something we have tried to get her out of, but no matter what we have tried, she will always do it... Its her funny little quirk, and while Best In Group, would have been wonderful, Im still floating on Cloud Nine, with the whole day...

Should mention that with the Cattle Dogs, our beautiful leased girl Crystal was Challenge bitch, (best bitch), for a further 8 points towards her Aus Ch title, then onto RUBOB... Her gorgeous daughter, Melba, who we bred, was awarded Res Ch bitch, (2nd best bitch), beating an older champion bitch... Very happy for Mr Saba who showed these 2 girlies... Our young, very gangly, 'nothing fits anywhere', young boy, Cobber, then beat his sister, Melba, for best puppy of breed...

  • Not sure which is a happier brag– the dogs or your daughters! So huge congrats all the way around!

  • Congrats! Two breeds-what a great weekend.

  • The pride in your post certainly shines through. You have every right to be thrilled with such a nice win.

  • Many congratulations to you all!!

  • Thank you for the well wishes… Still happily floating around on Cloud Nine, although I've had 1 or 2 crashes back to earth !!!

Now if Vanda would just come into season, and NOT copy what her mother is doing, (in/out, in/out), I would be very happy :-)...

Congratulations! On a side note: I work on tracking with Oakley to help mentally stimulate him; granted its only for fun but he likes it ( for awhile)…

@youngandtired: To me that expression in the first pic looks like he is saying, "What's up everyone this is a piece of Cake! I love these pictures, and I can't believe how he has grown, seems like just yesterday you were posting pictures of your new puppy. He is very handsome, and I love the stacking. How do you teach them to do that!!!!! I would love to teach Sahara that only b/c I love the look, not to show her, I just think it looks so cool. Thanks, and yes – it does seem like just yesterday dh had that weak moment and let me bring another B home. ;) Stacking w/mine has been pretty easy. I do it just like I teach them to sit, etc. I hold a treat and tell them to "stand", and put my hand under the belly to keep them from sitting, tell them "good stand" and give the treat. Once they "get" that, I tell them to "hold" and keep them at a stand for a few seconds -- if they move their legs, I move the legs back and say "hold" again. Once they "get" that, I tell them "hold" and move their legs back a bit into position, telling them "hold". Really, only takes about twenty minutes total to get them to understand "hold".
