      Thank you all.

I can now talk about him without breaking down. I still tear up. I can look at his pictures and his toys. There's still a void and it's still painful and I still cry, but not as much.

We have his ashes on the windowsill, one of his favorite places.

It says it was posted a month ago - no way someone wouldn't have already picked him up.

A way to do what Debra is suggesting in a game format is Crate Games, which you can get on DVD.

You said this happens when you are getting ready to leave. Pay attention to exactly what you are doing before you leave and then see how your dog is reacting. You should be able to pick up on the cues that your dog is picking up on. You can try changing the pattern of how you get ready and potentially remove the cue to lessen the behavior until you can build the good associations others described.

I live in De Pere but work down in Neenah. I take classes with my dogs mostly in the Fox Valley area though.

      KipawaK

Kipawa went through a rambunctious stage at 13 months - he didn't do anything bad, but he seemed to be 'testing' who the boss was. He was reminded, consistently. (Grin) At 15 months he started to show very nice maturation qualities and a complete understanding of his place in our family pack. Be patient, be consistent, give him lots of exercise and really praise him when he is good.

My Gossy has this habit of running around the perimeter of the room when she needs to go potty. Even in the midst of playing, she'll stop and do this perimeter run. It's a sure sign (too bad it's a self taught thing). Works better than the bell because whatever room I'm in, she'll come in and do it. Out we go.

Okay, Brat will LIST basenji mixes, and they sometimes help with transport. You absolutely should contact for pure basenjis in shelthers or need. 🙂

She is BAD news..last year she had 5 litters, all of 25 basenji puppies, under a different name, bluebonnet basenji or something like that…stay away...
I am pretty sure she is the one..hope I am wrong though..

as a side not..a reputable, responsible breeder knows all about Fanconi and does not rely on a vet to recommend testing..

I agree that cost is not necessarily indicative of the quality of a dog but rather it does reflect the time, energy and costs of producing litters.

I find with my own, any way, that there is a terrific saving on veterinary costs as I find that in my experience in general Basenjis are a very healthy breed and trips to the vets in between puppyhood and old age.are minma compared to many breeds. Before anybody comments, I do appreciate that some do seem to have many health problems but overall I think that it is probably quite a small portion..

Yes, they are as I got my current Basenji there last year. They just don't get around to updating their site because they're so busy. You have to email Karen Jones and she will let you know what's current.

As soon as I read the first post I thought of Sinbaje and her avatar. I hadn't realised Linda just how talented he is. Congratulations to Drew for his many great successes.
