Well sorta New Guy

Member Introductions
  • Hey all,
Well I finally got around to joining BRAT and will start taking a more active roll in my soon to be Basenji's lives. I currently have no B's but did up until last year both a boy,(Cody) and girl,(Cheyenne), red/white. I never new about the breed until 5yrs. ago and loved them dearly. They both now live in NC. I'm in the market for a pair, any color will do, and looking for offspring from champion lure coursing if any.

So hello and hope to see some of you at the local dog park.

P.S. I will be posting some info on a brother/sister, tri color available in Irvine, Ca.

    Best wishes,
    Jim Gloss

@elbrant That's how all my 8-some learned to catch. If food dropped on the floor - you lost it ! So they all stood on their hind legs and it was like feeding a nest of fledgling sparrows. A gentle toss of the treat and someone caught it !

Welcome to the forum. Great story too. I especially like the description of your other dog "Betty the Sheprador Chowtriever ." That's Funny! My basenji/whippet mix also came from a local shelter. She wasn't there long enough, or perhaps they didn't know much about bs, but they only had her listed as whippet mix. Didn't take long for a dog savy friend of mine to mention the word "basenji." No doubt in my mind, she is basenji and something. I picked her out and my mother paid for her. Best Christmas present I ever got!
